Chapter 8

"Y/n?"

You looked up to see Julian staring down at you. His face was red and he had a black eye.

"Julian, what happened?!" You asked, worried.

"It's nothing...." He paused. "...Did he really kiss you?"

You nodded your head slowly.

He shook his head. "I knew I couldn't trust him."

"Wh-what do you mean?"

He sat down on the step next to you, grabbed your hand, and intertwined his fingers with yours. His knuckles were red. "Ever since he heard about you, he seemed interested. He would always get excited when you came up in conversation, but he would try to act all innocent when I questioned him. I saw the expression on his face when Mia was closing the closet door. Like he had won. Like he had beaten me. Like he had..." He trailed off.

You leaned against him. "Do you want to tell me what happened?"

"Well... we kind of got into a fight. After you ran away, we asked him what happened, and he said that he kissed you."

"Then what?" you asked.

"I yelled at him, and I punched him. He lunged towards me and Sarah tried to hold him back, but she failed miserably. He hit me back and I kicked him, and so on and so forth. I barely escaped alive," he said with a slight chuckle.

This came as a surprise to you; you didn't think Julian would or could ever be that aggressive. "I can't believe you would get in a fight just for me," you told him, truly amazed.

"Yeah, well he obviously would too," he responded with a cold tone.

"Do you want me to get an ice pack?" you asked Julian, changing the subject. You stood up and pulled him with you.

"Nah, I'll be alright," Julian replied. "Thanks though."

You looked down at the ground for a moment and then looked back up. He was staring at you blankly, still holding your hand.

"Do you need anything?" You asked.

"Can I kiss you?" He blurted.

But you didn't have time to answer back (with a yes of course); he grabbed the sides of your face and kissed you. You wrapped your hands around his neck and kissed back passionately. Sadly though, the kiss didn't last long; you heard someone open the back door. You both pulled apart, startled, and spun around. It was Mia.

"Am I interrupting something?" She asked innocently.

"Uh..."

"I'm going to go get an ice pack now," Julian said, and he hurried back inside the house, leaving you and Mia outside on the porch alone.

"Julian-" You watched him hurry back inside the house, glancing back at you only once.

"What do you think you were doing?" Mia asked. She began advancing on you slowly.

"W-what do you mean...?" You responded, backing up.

"Julian is mine," she responded with a death glare.

"Huh?" You asked, confused.

"That's right," she sneered. "If only you knew the true story."

"What? What are you talking about Mia?!"

"You think you're so cute," Mia said. You bumped into the side railing of the porch.

"Story?"

"Julian was mine. We went on trips together. We kissed. We loved each other. Jisteria was a thing. And now it's ruined, all because of you."

You stared into her eyes. You knew about Jisteria, but you didn't know it had actually been a legit thing. And they kissed? You thought you were the only one who ever kissed him.

You opened your mouth to respond, but Mia grabbed your throat, cutting you off. "You say one word," she snarled, "and you're dead."

"Help!" you choked; your air supply was running out fast. You looked at the ground below you, about fifteen feet down.

Mia let go of your neck and pushed you hard. You felt yourself falling backwards off the deck.

Thud.

AAAYYYYYY GUESS WHO FINALLY GOT AN UPDATE OUT? YAY ME!

You just fell off of a deck! Oh snap! Sorry for the update delay, I have a problem with consistency...and I'm just really busy all the time and yeah
