"How are you feeling today Stella?" Dr. Charlie asks me.
"Really depressed to be honest."
"Have you made any friends here?"
"Yeah the people have been great. I just still feel depressed."
"That's normal Stella, with depression and anxiety. They don't just go away once you get to a mental hospital."
I nod in agreement.
"When will I get to go home?" I ask.
"In a couple of days, you have only been here for two days. I say give it about three more days and you should be on your way home."
I smile. I am SOO ready to go home. The friends I have made are nice but I am ready to go home.
"How did your therapy session go?" Vanessa asks me at lunch.
"Went good I should be going home in a couple of days."
"Awesome!" She smiles while eating chicken spaghetti.
"When are you going home?" I ask her.
"Probably tomorrow."
"Awesome!"
"Hey Amy!" Vanessa smiles as Amy joins our table.
"Ugh." Amy sighs.
"What's wrong?"
"Ugh. My therapy session was horrible. They want to send me to long term because my moods swings are so awful. One minute I am happy, the next I want to die. On top of all that, my medicines aren't work right. Sorry guys, I am a mess."
Vanessa and I look at each other. Amy now is laying her head on the table and looks like she is about to cry.
"You can get through this. God's got you girl!" Vanessa tries to encourage Amy but she is still upset. I would be upset to. Living with any mental illness is rough and so are mental hospitals.
At group therapy today we decided to color.
"Vanessa, are you going to long term?" I whisper.
Amy still looks upset and she's not even coloring.
"No, as long as I don't hear anymore voices."
"How can we cheer up Amy?"
"Just let her be. There is nothing we can do."
Later that night I call my parents and Jason. They are excited I am coming home soon.
Vanessa and I hang out in my room the rest of the night. Amy is still in her room crying and refuses to come out.
"I have been reading my Bible and been praying. This whole: 'being saved thing,' is awesome!" Angela tells us as she enters our room.
"Have been talking to Grace about Jesus but she still doesn't want any part in this." Angela explains.
"All we can do is give her a Bible and tell her the good news. She has to do the rest herself." Vanessa explains and we nod in agreement.
Later that day Grace comes in our room and finally comes to Jesus.
I go to bed with a happy feeling in my heart.
