This sucks.

No.

There were no kisses, no 'I missed you' hugs, or any happy tears.

The only word to describe it was strange.

It didn't feel like Tyler was himself, he was a whole different person.

You stepped in the room and silently closed the door behind you.

Tyler was seated on the couch, his head was in his hands, but he perked up when he saw you.

His face was a little more red than normal, and there were tear stains on his cheek, his hair was a mess.

He didn't even look relieved when he saw you.

Tyler stood up, his eyes never leaving you. He approached you, but kept his distance by a few feet.

He leaned up against the counter top, and looked at you with eyes you've never seen.

"Where were you?" His raspy voice said, barely above a whisper.

"O-out," You responded, with some truth.

"What were you doing?" He asked, shifting his position.

"I got coffee," You say, keeping your eyes to the floor.

"You didn't even respond to my calls..." Tyler trailed on, switching his gaze to the floor also. He ran a hand through his hair in confusion.

"I-I..." Your eyes searched the room, as almost they were searching for you answer, "I just needed to get out for awhile."

Tyler sighed and crossed his arms, shifting his weight into another foot, his sight never leaving the ground, "You just needed to get away?"

His voice didn't sound like his normal higher-pitched tone, like he usually has. It was almost a whisper, like a mumble.

Tyler read your mind, "Yeah, I kinda needed to get away," You responded truthfully.

"Get away from me?" He asked, he quickly looked out the window, but then looked at the carpet. He ran his hand through his hair once again.

"I just- I just needed to think," You tried to explain, finding Tyler's eyes.

"What were you thinking about?" Tyler asked again.

Sighing frustratedly, you got sick of his questions.

"Why are you asking me so many questions?" You finally asked, saying it blandly.

Tyler's eyes changed, almost. As if they almost got darker, sadder.

"Well, can't I ask my girlfriend a question?" He started, crossing his arms, "Or should I even call you my girlfriend..."

You tried so hard to not cry then and there. You pretended to not acted shock. If Tyler saw you break down, he would think you're weak.

Or would he really?

"Why would you question that?" You asked, your voice cracking slightly. You hoped Tyler didn't notice.

"Because we obviously disagree on everything," Tyler answered truthfully, "And you always leave me..."

"I already told you, I went out to think," You responded to him, "I just needed a little time for myself."

"I'm not talking about that," Tyler said quickly after you.

"What do you mean?" You asked.

"Do you remember why we never talked years ago? But then we met in the music store again?" Tyler piled up.

"Yes," You answer just above a whisper, not wanting to talk about it.

"We fought. Just like this, and I don't want to leave you just because of another disagreement," Tyler said.

"Me neither," You respond quietly.

You and Tyler just sat there in the silent room. There was nothing else to say, and nothing to be said.

"You know, can I just do something?" Tyler requested, looking into your eyes.

You nod slowly, keeping your eyes to the floor.

Tyler instantly walked over and wrapped you in his arms.

He rested his chin on the top of your head, "Will you ever leave me, for good?"

Not knowing how to control your emotions at the moment, you start to cry, "No.." You mumbled in his chest.

"Hey now, don't cry," Tyler said, pulling away to look at your now red face.

He didn't really know what to do with you at the moment. He wanted to kiss your tears away and hug you until you knew everything was going to be alright. But he didn't really know if you were comfortable with that again.

"I'm fine," You fussed, avoiding Tyler's worried eyes.

Instead, he just gave you a reassuring smile.

"Do you want to start packing? We're leaving soon," He stated.

You nodded, and started to look up at him.

You smiled at Tyler, "Yeah, I'll start packing."

"You're really pretty, you know that?" Tyler called as you walked past him and to your suitcase.

The smile on your face grew wider after what Tyler just said.
