Truthfully, I'm not entirely sure what happened after that last hour of panic. Apparently, there has been a virus going on and it reached to our school. The virus doesn't take too long to kick in, or at least, that's what i've determined so far. If you're scratched, you're screwed. If you're bit, you're screwed.
It's all very complicated.
We were one of the last who survived, I guess. We as in, me, Steven, Ramona and Marie. I don't know how we did it. I don't know how we managed to keep the door closed with all of the madness out in the hallways. We were fortunate that we were in such a small, public high school, or I don't think we could have made it out alive.
Everyone eventually deserted the building as far as I could tell. We went up to the door and listened for noises. There was some foot steps getting closer and closer towards the door. We quickly got tables and chairs, and moved them towards the door, barricading it.
We've been silent for the past hour and I couldn't take it anymore. I sighed, a little to loud.
"Holy shit.", Ramona exclaimed. "We have to get out of here. How are we going to do that?!? We're stuck in here FOREVER! Oh my god. Oh my god. WE'RE GOING TO DI-" Before she could finish, Steven grabbed her shoulders and yelled, "CALM DOWN!!" She immediately stopped and sighed.
"We have get out of here. But how?" Ramona spoke. I shook my head. I didn't know what to do. I was so lost and confused. I walked to the window and opened a slit of the blinds, out showed the deserted parking lot. I looked up and saw my car. "GUYS!" I whisper-yelled. They all turned to me with confusion. "Come here!"
They all got up and quickly walked to me, looking where I was. "My car!" I said quietly. It was our only option. "We obviously can't go by foot. So..."
"We go through the windows and run to Joy's car as fast as we can!" Marie exclaimed catching onto my idea. I went to my bag and put it around me, everyone else did as well. The parking lot was clear, no walkers, no people and not more than 5 cars. We still had to be careful.
We opened the windows and quickly jumped out. "GO, GO, GO!" Steven yelled. We ran quickly and I took out my keys, ready to unlock the car. Once we reached the car, I unlocked it and everyone got in as fast as possible and our seat belts were on in a millisecond. I locked the door and sighed in relief. Yet, that wasn't fast enough.
We heard a banging on the side of the car.
Looking over, we noticed that it was Mr. Gonzalez? But something was different. Very different... His skin was so gray and deformed. "Oh my god..." Steven mumbled quietly.
I didn't do anything, I started the car and sped out of the parking lot. It was a quiet drive. Everyone was in shock. Well, who wouldn't be?!
As we drove off, I noticed the skies getting darker and it seemed as if there was going to be a storm. The streets were empty and all of the houses were hoarded. I looked down as I saw the entrance of the mall ahead of us. "Guys, the mall."
I sped as quickly as possible into the parking lot.
"The mall is literally empty." Marie said as she stared at the empty parking lot. "Shoudn't that be a good thing?" Steven replied.
"STOP!" Ramona yelled, "THERE'S A BUNCH OFF THEM RIGHT THERE!"
I immediately stopped the car and looked forward at the main entrance of the mall filled with hideous walkers. "Shit, shit, shit."
As quickly as possible, I drove behind the mall, which thankfully was empty, and parked it, hidden. We unbuckled our seat belts and grabbed our stuff.
