"...principles of momentum," Hanji said, finished with her lecture, seeming to have taken hours.
"Wow," you said, clearly exhausted, "how *yawn* interesting."
"Isn't it," she asked excitedly. "And that's just the first one! I have so much more knowledge to share with you, such as-"
She was cut off by the door slamming open to a very frantic and nervous Moblit.
"Section Commander," he said urgently, "do you have any idea what time it is?"
"No," she replied, "I have no clue what time it is because this room has no windows. What time is it?"
"It's close to noon, Section Commander."
"Shit," she muttered under her breath, "I take it you've already gotten everyone to their duties then?"
"Yes, Section Commander."
"Good." She turns to you before saying, "let's get going then. We have a busy day ahead of us."
You give her a blank stare before answering. "Uh, yes, definitely ma'am."
She gives you a quick smile before addressing both you and Moblit.
"Give me a minute to get fully dressed, I'll be right out, don't wait on me."
With that, you and Moblit exit her office, not breathing a word to each other before Moblit piped up, "so, I guess you got one of her infamous lectures."
"Yes I did," you reply, still rubbing the sleep from your eyes, "is it that obvious?"
He gives a chuckle and answers, "don't worry about it, she does that to all of the newcomers. You should have seen the lecture she gave me. It lasted over a day. I still remember every word."
Before you could respond, Hanji cane running behind the two of you and patted your backs.
"Didn't miss me too much, I hope," she said jokingly.
"Section Commander, you have three very important meetings today," Moblit said, returning to his formal mode. "I've scheduled them all for you throughout the day-"
"Cancel them," she interrupted, "I'm spending the day with (y/n), getting to know them, finding out what to do with them..."
"S-section Commander, I don't think that's-"
"Maybe not, but oh well," she said before taking you with her and walking off, "you'll figure something out."
"Um, we don't have to do this if you've got other things to do," you said slightly nervous, thinking she might get in trouble.
"Nonsense," she replied, "besides, those meetings are all the same, the same boring things from boring men."
"Well, if you think it's alright..."
"Hey, be careful," she said, sounding serious, "you're starting to sound like Moblit."
You can't help but laugh at her warning.
"She seems confident that she'll be fine...I guess I should be too," you think.
"So," she said, "first I'll be seeing how you do in the lab, if you're scientist material and if I can depend on you as an assistant in my research."
