"H...hey." Cabe whispered, gently sitting next to Vabi. "What Cabe. I'm trying to feel sad." She yelled at him. "I understand... this is difficult. For both of us. Va.... you can't live like this." She looked at him, a look of disbelief on her face. "Oh. Oh. I see how it is. You waltz out of my life when Kai was around and now that she's dead you come back." Cabe didn't interrupt her, as he usually did. "Va-" "Don't you ever call me that." "Er.. Vabi. Kaiba always invited me over to hang out with you two... I felt like a third wheel. You just shut me out of your life... I want to make it up to you. I'm here now." Vabi looked at him again. "I'm like this because of what you did to my friends. Because of what you did to us." She stopped. Cabe was hidden under his glasses, who knew what he was thinking. "Vabi. This is a hard time for both of us. I lost my friends and you lost your other half. We're both mourning our loss. Please. Let me talk to you." His voice broke for a moment. Behind those clouded glasses were tears waiting to flow no doubt. "Whatever. Go ahead. Tell me a fucking story." Cabe looked at her, a mix of grief and thankfulness in his eyes. "Remember 8th grade? When I told you that I liked you..." "Yeah. That was 2 years ago." "I know what you did.... You told Kaiba things about me. Things that weren't true... or bad. You even ripped up the astrology things we did together..." Cabe was crying. "I was just letting something off my chest. But then you started ignoring me... hitting me whenever you saw me. Telling me things.. It hurt. But... I know it wasn't your fault. You were just mad. You didn't mean to be like this. So I came to talk to you. To make you feel better." She looked at him. "I... I did that? I hit you? I ripped up the astrology..." The memories came flooding back. "I did. And I hid it from Kaiba... and you hid it from her too." He nodded. "I wanted you and Kaiba to be happy together. I won't say anything about my feelings, but I just want to see you happy." She hugged him tightly, crying. He patted her back and let her. "They found her hanging by her video games." She said through bursts of sobs. "I read in the paper..." He took off his glasses for the first time in a while. "I died a little inside when I read the paper." Vabi started sobbing by this point. "It still hurts... as if I just saw her yesterday..." He nodded, patting her back again. "Its normal to feel that way. Especially in a time like this." Vabi loosened her grip and broke the hug. She looked at him. He had a couple bruises across his eyes. Maybe that's why his glasses are so huge.. She thought to herself. "I wanna talk more." She said blankly. "About Kaiba... about us." Cabe nodded. "I'm all ears." "We would play online until three am sometimes. Five am on special occasions. We planned on getting married and moving to Warburry." "Warburry? That place is massive!" She nodded. "Kaiba wanted to live in the city. Warburry has lovely skies at night. You can see constellations in an instant!" She smiled a bit. It was a melancholy smile, but a smile nonetheless. "If you sytill want to move there, I can help you find an apartment." He nodded. "No, I'd rather stay here. At least here I'll know where the Popsicle stand is." Cabe nodded. "Best in all of Audrion!" She laughed a bit. Cabe had a concerned look, but it was mostly hidden by his glasses. "You need to clean those things." "They'll be fine." Vabi looked at him again. How could he not hate her for abandoning him? Or want to beat her up? "Is... everything alright Vabi?" She nodded. "I forgot to mention... how's life for you?" He shook his head. "Not that good. But it'll be okay. Its none of your concern." He seemed frozen for a bit. "I'm glad we could talk. Really. Its so nice to hear your voice again Vabi." She wiped away a few tears and nodded. "Yeah.. Same to you. I'm sorry about-" "Not gonna hear it." "Er, yeah. I'll text you later on... I might wanna talk again." Cabe nodded. "I-I'll see you Vabi... Goodbye!" He smiled to himself, a new sense of purpose filling his mind.
