"I don't even understand this, Ni, there's all these kids here being bullied and no one is doing anything about it. We need to do something to stop all of this," Harry exclaimed, running his hand through his hair.
Niall looked up from the Telly, raising an eyebrow. "I don't know why you expect us to do. We're both only twenty with barely any money. No one would let us around kids."
Harry rolled his eyes and got his coat, pulling it on. "Whatever. I'm going out. Don't wait up," Harry muttered, storming out of the house, leaving Niall to just shrug.
Entering the park, Louis shivered as the cold wind nipped at his exposed skin. He rubbed his hands together and blew on them, attempting to warm them.
He spotted some swings not too far away and he smiled, approaching them. He sat down hesitantly, the bruises from today still fresh and sore, hidden beneath his many layers of clothing.
Harry liked walking during the winter. The fresh snow crunching under his boots and the wind nipping at his face was like a safe haven to Harry. He could spend hours outside in general. But the winter time was his favorite.
As Harry was walking, though, he stopped, hearing a small sound. It sounded a bit like someone in pain, trying to conceal it. Harry walked towards the noise, pleased and a little upset by the sight in front of him.
He had arrived to one of his favorite parks. It was small and hidden, and there was trees everywhere that were always perfectly covered in snow. But he also saw a younger boy sniffling on a swing, a small cut under his bottom lip and a bruise on his brow.
Louis whimpered, biting his to prevent sound from escaping. He decided to give up and just stand, not willing to deal with the pain. His back especially hurt from slipping down the staircase after Kenny left some water at the top of the step. Luckily, the staircase had only four stairs, so he didn't fall very far. But it still hurt.
He walked over to a random tree nearby and set his forehead against the rough bark and inhaling the scent of pine, trying to distract himself so he wouldn't start crying.
"Excuse me?" Harry asked, startling the young boy in front of him. Harry held out his hand to calm the boy, like he was a deer in headlights, and stepped forward. "Are you okay, lovely?"
"I'm fine," Louis said quietly, pushing the glasses up further on his face. "Please don't hurt me. My back really hurts and I already deal with enough already, so just...please. I'll do anything."
Harry was taken aback and he shook his head, muttering out a thousand no's.
"I wouldn't hurt you, love, I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You seem hurt and I wanted to help. Would you like to come back to my mate's and my flat to fix yourself up? You're shivering."
Harry's motherly instincts instantly kicked in, and he touched the boy's shoulder softly, not wanting to hurt him.
"My name is Harry. Harry Styles. What's yours?"
"L-Louis Tomlinson," Louis said, flinching at Harry's touch and looking at him with wide eyes. "W-why are you taking me back to your place? Are you gonna rape me? Are you gonna kill me? Please do, I don't wanna live anymore, I'm just too chicken to end it myself."
Harry's eyes grew wide, his mouth dropping open. He was astonished, the words falling out of the boys mouth were ones Harry heard in fake stories. But this boy - Louis - wanted to die.
"Louis, love, no. I just wanted to fix you up and get you warmed up. Maybe something to eat. You seem hurt and I just wanted to help. If you don't want to come back to my place, at least let me walk you home," Harry suggested, not wanting to make the boy uncomfortable.
