Chapter 6: Zeref

After a few hours of sitting in the cold room, Gray and Natsu started melting the ice on the remaining windows when they thought that Natsu's attackers had left. Once the ice had melted from the windows completely, Gray could still see some people hiding behind some trees. He sighed and looked around the room, 

"Some of them are still there so I'll keep the ice on the door for now." Everyone nodded and Natsu eased himself onto the ground. Lucy looked over at him in concern as she stroked Wendy's long blue hair as she slept. 

"Natsu? Are you ok?" Natsu leaned up against the wall and sighed, 

"Yeah I'm good. Just really tired." Natsu's body slacked and Lucy could tell that he fell asleep immediately. Lucy looked at Gray with a questioning look, 

"Were they able to take some magic from him this time?" Gray sighed and nodded, 

"Yeah. They had a huge container in the room and it was filled up a little bit by the time I got there. It wasn't much that they took but it was enough to make Natsu pretty weak." Lucy looked over at Natsu with concern in her eyes, 

"Maybe they're getting stronger. The people sent to get Natsu, because they have never been able to take any magic from him before." Gray shrugged and leaned against the wall, 

"Maybe. But we're here to protect him, and now that Wendy knows everything, then maybe she can help." Lucy was about to say something but Gray put a hand up to silence her, "I know what you're going to say, that she's a little girl and that she shouldn't be involved in this. But she is now because she's Natsu's sister and she is stronger than we think she is. She is a dragon slayer after all." Lucy sighed and nodded her head in defeat,

"Yeah, I guess you're right Gray. I feel bad for her though. She was just a normal girl a few days ago and now she knows everything. About Natsu, demons, about everything she thought wasn't real anymore." Gray nodded and smiled, 

"Yeah I know what you mean. But when I told you, you were in complete shock, wouldn't say a thing. At least Wendy knows what's important here." Lucy nodded, a light blush on her cheeks, 

"Yeah. The only thing we have to do is protect Natsu from everyone his brother sends for him. Even if it is a demon." Gray nodded and smiled, 

"You got that right."

Zeref slammed his fist down on the arm of the large stone throne, 

"What do you mean you failed?!" The man standing in front shook in fear but was able to make his voice steady, 

"Um, there was an ice make wizard there that was able to defeat us and take Natsu away. But we did get some of his magic power." Zeref's eyes turned a deep crimson as he locked eyes with the man, 

"I don't just want his magic energy, I want him! I want Natsu Dragneel!"

Natsu woke up with a gasp and shuddered, remembering his dream. No. He knew that he was seeing what was going on at that very moment. Zeref was still after him, 

"Figures..." Natsu looked around the room and saw that everyone was sleeping either on the floor or on Lucy's large bed. He looked around for Wendy and saw her sleeping on the couch. He smiled and stood up to stretch. Then he stood there, like a statue when his ears picked up the faintest sound, 

"now." Natsu's onyx eyes went immediately to the window just as a dart flew through the air and scraped his face. Just barely missing its target. He frowned and put fire on the locks so that the windows couldn't be opened from the outside. He smiled looking at his handiwork then he stumbled backwards and caught himself on the wall closest to him, 

"What-" There was a sharp pain in Natsu's head and he closed his eyes. Behind his eyelids, he was able to see through Zeref's eyes. He was standing right outside Lucy's house and his hand was clenched into a fist. Natsu opened his eyes again and realized that the dart the men shot at him was not meant to kill him, it was meant to get Zeref's magic into him. Natsu gasped and fell to his hands and knees. 

"G-GRAY! LUCY!" Gray shot up from where he was sleeping and saw Natsu on the ground panting and sweating, 

"Natsu?! What's going on?" Natsu started getting light headed, 

"Z-Zeref..." Natsu's eyes rolled back and he fell onto the ground. Gray ran up to him and shook his shoulder, seeing a black scratch on his face, 

"Lucy! Get up!" Lucy sat up and looked around. When she saw Natsu on the ground, she shot out of bed and looked out the window. She tried seeing something but all she could see was a pair of red eyes. She gasped and pulled the curtains down on the windows, 

"It's Zeref. He's outside!" Gray nodded grimly and left Natsu on the ground to freeze the windows again. Lucy rushed to Natsu's side and saw the cut on his face, she reached out to touch it and Natsu hissed in pain. She pulled her hand away and looked around the room for what had cut him. Then Lucy saw a dart in the wall on the opposite side of the room, 

"Gray..." Lucy pulled the dart from the wall and looked at the label in horror. Gray walked over to her after freezing the windows and grabbed the dart from her hand, 

"Oh no...it's poison..." Lucy looked up at Gray, 

"W-what do we do?! We're stuck in here because of the men outside and Natsu's going to die if we don't get him medicine!" Gray frowned and threw the dart into the ground. 

"I don't know. We have nothing here that could help him and if we go outside he is going to die anyway. Crap, what do we do here?!" 

"I-I think I can help." Gray and Lucy looked over and saw Wendy sitting by Natsu with tears in her eyes, "I have healing magic." Lucy smiled and tears fell down her face, 

"Really?" Wendy nodded and smiled, 

"I think that I can help him. But don't get too excited, I haven't used this magic in a long time and I don't know how well it will do against poison." Lucy nodded and smiled,

"Ok." Wendy laid Natsu on his back and took a deep breath, 

"Here goes..."
