"Oh, hi Heather!" Julia said smiling while she was shoving someone behind her.

'She looked like as if she was shoving someone behind her.' Heather thought. She looked at Julia's hand (the one that was shoving someone) beneath it she saw a man's foot.

"Hello cuz!" Heather said smiling and quickly. She continued to walk to the stairs. As she got closer to the stairs, she smelt something stinky. She avoided the floor where the smell came from. Finally, she reached the stairs. She saw a butt mark on every step. The stink smelt weak but it was still powerful. She also heard someone was crying. She searched the side of the stairs in panic. She saw Matt was lying down in the front of the kitchen door. He was bleeding in his right shoulder, crying for the pain to fade away.

Heather hurried down the stairs. She went to Matt crying.
"Matt, get up." She commanded him. Tears flowing down her cheeks. Suddenly, Matt laughed as if he was crazy, schizophrenic person.

"Why are you laughing like that?" Heather asked confused. She wiped Matt's tears. Matt stood up. He was laughing but he's also crying. Heather watched him do his moment.

"Because I am tired, Heather. I like being with the pain I felt everyday. There's nothing we can do to stop it. Pain is the only thing that cares about me even if it hurts so much, I just need to sit and relax and embrace the pain. In that way, everything's gonna be fine. Acceptance and rejection is the only answer to endure the pain." Matt smiled. Heather could see the sorrow behind his smile. She hugged him tightly, cried on Matt's shoulder, and tapped his shoulder gently.

Heather could feel him, but Matt didn't show that he's broken inside. He was laughing with tears in Heather's shoulder as if his laugh was crying.

"Matt, can you tell me why you're crying?" Heather asked whimpering.

"This is tears of joy, Heather." Matt chuckled.

"I don't get it," Heather said. Tears flowing down her cheeks. She looked at him in the eyes. Matt smiled at her. Heather could describe that Matt was broken behind that smile.

"Heather," Iris called, "Heather, dinner's ready." The kitchen door opened. Iris looked at them innocently. Matt hugged Heather tightly, and he began to cry. Iris grinned. She pulled Heather away from Matt. Heather was shocked. Iris' gripped was so strong that it left a reddish mark on Heather's arm.

"Let's eat, Heather." Iris said. Heather looked at Matt. He was crying. "Stop crying you stupid cunt," Iris demanded suddenly. Heather felt sorry for him. She looked at him crying. She couldn't do anything to help Matt. She felt like she was useless and somehow part of the crime. Iris slammed the door shut, and looked at Heather smiling.

"Okay, let's eat, sit down Heather and feel free to eat whatever you want." Iris smiled. " I prepared steak, fruit salad, and chocolate mousse for tonight." She handed her the black and green stripes patterned plate, a spoon, fork and a table knife.

Heather just smiled at her. She sat down, wiped her tears and she began to eat the steak as she began to think deeply. Worrying about Matt, she accidentally toppled the salad beside her. Her eyes went wide open when she watched it fell. The glass shattered and the milky fruit salad splattered on the floor. Iris stood up from her chair. Heather looked at her. Iris looked mad.

"I'll clean it," she said politely.

As his mom slammed door shut in front him, Matt suddenly couldn't breathe. He started to go upstairs weeping loudly. His face was facing down his path. As he reached the top of the stairs, he saw his dad naked, kissing Julia lustfully, caressing and fingering her coochie. Matt dropped his mouth open.
