Nico POV.
I woke up pinned under Will in the nurses bedroom. It was warm, and surprisingly comfortable. The room smelled like clean cotton and oranges. Birds and monsters were chirping, and sunlight was already streaming pleasantly through the-wait.
Oh schist.
Sunlight meant daytime. Daytime meant activities, which led to injuries. Often, a doctor had to stand nearby during the more dangerous games.
I froze. Ohhh no. I was stuck, in a bed, with Will, the best healer in camp.
Now, don't get me wrong, in any other situation, I would have completely enjoyed this predicament. (Who wouldn't?) But it was daytime. And sooner or later, someone was bound to come looking for Will, and end up finding me, too.
I knew I probably should have expected something like this to happen, since A., I had asked to share a bed with him, B., Aphrodite can be a real bitch, and C., Will was buff, and a very clingy sleeper. Not that I minded either, but it would make moving him much harder. Add my scrawny ass to the equation, and it was darn near impossible.
I tried anyway.
After what felt like hours of trying to push or roll Will off of me, and failing, I decided to try a different approach.
"Hey," I said, and poking him in the forehead. "Wake up. Wake up, wake up, wake up, WAKE UP!" Nothing. Oh gods. I managed to wiggle out of his grasp enough to sit up, but his arms were still stuck tight around my waist.
"Will. Wake up. We have to get up." I glanced up at the clock. Schist.
"Will, we missed breakfast." (another poke to the face) "Activities are starting. (yet another poke) Will. Will. William! Wake up!"
"MMmnnghhh. No." He mumbled. Seriously?
I rolled my eyes. You'd think the son of the Sun god would just be itching to get outside and into the warmth and sunshine, but noooo. He was asleep on top of the son of death! And shadows! And darkness! Did I mention death? Gods. If that's not irony, I don't know what is.
Finally, he let go, and rolled over.
Yes! I thought. Here's my chance! Just gotta get out of here and back to my own-
"Will?" I heard someone call.
Oh, no.
"Hey, Will? Where are you, dude? Chiron sent us to check on you, see if you were sick." It was Jason, another camper, too. Of course Chiron thought he was sick. Will never missed breakfast. He was way too much of an early-bird. I flopped back down, pulled a pillow over my head, and held my breath.
Maybe they won't see me?
But of course, they did. The other camper was someone I recognized as Cecil, one of Will's best friends.
"Nico?" Jason asked, slightly taken aback. I sat up, and made sure the blankets covered my boxers. Schist.
"Surprise?" I said, heat rising to my cheeks. Oh, why in Hades was I still in this room? Why couldn't I have just woken up earlier?
Cecil skipped shock, and went straight to laughing. And boy, did he laugh. He laughed so hard, he fell on the floor. I rolled my eyes.
Wow, Cecil. Graceful, aren't we? He finally managed to say something in-between gasping for breath.
"Nico! What are you doing in Will's bed?" I stared him down. This only triggered another burst of giggles.
That kid could be such a hyena. I frowned, and assessed the room's escape routs. The window? No, it was too high up. Besides, I wouldn't get across camp in just a T shirt. I'd run into Clarise before then. That left only the door... which was being(unintentionally) blocked by Jason.
