The House at the End of the Street

~Neighbors~

I woke up refreshed as I heard Juu downstairs with the sound of clattering pots and pans. I smiled and got out of bed so I could go downstairs before she destroyed anything.

"Juu please just let me cook breakfast... You remember what happened last time don't you?" I said as I took the spatula away from her before walking over to the stove.

She groaned before saying, " It was an accident and I just wanted to surprise you since you always cook for me!!!"

I laughed as I flipped the pancakes and threw on the bacon into a separate pan. After a while, to Juu at least, I set the table with bacon, eggs, and chocolate chip pancakes. After saying grace for the meal We ate in peace occasionally saying something about the neighborhood before there was a knock on the door. We looked at each other before I stood up to answer it. When I opened the door I saw a teenage boy standing there with a tupperware of cookies.

"Ummmm.... Hi?" I said awkwardly as I looked at the boy.

He had bright light blue hair and he had a bored expression on his face until I opened the door.

"Uhhhh.. Yeah hi. I'm Alex, Alex Chaplain. My mom heard that you moved here so she sent me over to give you something to feel welcomed here in this town...." he said as he looked down at me still in my pajamas.

I looked down and saw that he was looking at my stomach area seeing as it was exposed with a little of my v-line..... I looked back up at him and smiled as I took the tupperware from him.

"Thanks for the kind gift would you like to come in?" I asked as I stepped aside to let him in.

He smiled and nodded as I closed the door behind him walking past him into the living room to set the tupperware on the table. I gestured for him to sit down as I grabbed a can of soda for him to drink. Smiling, he took the drink popping open the can before taking a couple sips.

"Soooooo who's the water cooler?" I heard Juu say behind me.

I choked down a laugh as Alex looked at Juu with a confused expression. I smiled before telling her who he was and why he was here. Though right after I told her why he was here she stood up took the tupperware and ran up into what I think is her room seeing as I heard a lock.

I sighed then looked at Alex before saying,"It looks like I won't be getting any of your mum's cookies..."

He laughed before asking,"Are you British?"

I looked at him questioningly before he spoke again.

"Well you know you said mum instead of mom..... and from what I know all British people say mum....." he stammered embarrassed.

I giggled before saying,"No I'm not British but I do pick up on accents rather quickly and sometimes the lingo sticks with me you know?"

He smiled before he jumped up since something started to vibrate. We both laughed as he pulled out his phone and answered it. Standing up he walked towards the kitchen to throw away his can of soda he finished while talking.

"Hello?...... Oh hey dude what's up?.... nothing much with the new people in town.... yeah I'm in their house.... what man I'm not lying I can prove it!!!" He looks at me and hands me the phone while putting it on speaker.

"Ello?" I said in my best British accent which wasn't hard to pull off.

Alex laughed in the background as I shushed him trying not to laugh myself.

"Hey you must be one of the newcomers?" The boy on the other line said.

I smiled before saying,"Why yes I am and who might you be?"
