BLOOM
The first day of school was like any other normal first day, except everyone kept staring at me. What's different? Always I had been the outcast at school, so why did it feel any different now? Looking around, I realized what felt different... These kids were staring at me strangely. Yet, everyone else stared at them strangely, odd. Sure, they looked weird, pale skin, golden eyes, but that's coming from the girl that just used her mind to turn on the stove last night. Rolling my eyes, I make my way to the school, hoping the best for my first day.
"Bloom! Bloom Swan!" A langly kid comes running up behind me, the strange group noticing him too. They snap their golden eyes back to me before walking away timidly.
"Uhm, yes?"
"Hi, I'm Eric. I work for the yearbook committee." He beams widely and I raise an eyebrow before saying, "Ok and?"
His smile falls and I can hear small snickers come from the golden eyes, who were standing not too far away from us by a set of lockers. "Well, I just was wondering if you needed help? Like let me show you around?"
I shake my head kindly and say, "No, it's alright, I'll figure it out. Thank you."
Making sure he couldn't follow behind, I made sure to blend in with the crowd. Who knew people here would be so into your business? I mean sure, people were friendly in my old school, but I had been friends with most of them for years. Here, I have to start all over again. Not to mention, my weird discovery last night.
"Bloom Swan? Welcome to Forks High School, dear. Here is your schedule." The nice elderly lady smiles as she hands me my schedule. I smile back at her and thank her before leaving, not before asking, "Uhm, which way to English?"
The lady giggles before pointing to the right and then saying, "The third door down, dear."
"Thank you!" I smile again and head off. First, I need to find my locker so I can dump my stuff. Finally after constant searching, I found my locker which was in the middle of a very busy hallway.
"Excuse me, but is that your natural hair color?" A girl pops up beside me, her thick glasses keep sliding down her nose as she gawks at my red locks. I had to stifle a giggle as I reply, "Yes, I know, it's weird."
"No, no, it's not! It's beautiful. I just never saw anything like it." She trails off, looking at it again mesmerized. She snaps out of it in seconds before blushing and introducing herself, "I'm sorry, that was so rude of me. My name is Angela."
"Hi, Angela, I'm Bloom."
She nods, "Yeah, I know. Everyone knows everyone here, especially new faces."
I raise an eyebrow at that as she giggles, "Eric also sent out a PSA to everyone as soon as he met you."
"Oh. Well, Forks High sure is very in tune with its students." I grimace as I hold my books close to me. Angela seems to notice my lack of enthusiasm and frowns, "Yeah, sorry, it's just everyone knows everyone since we were children."
"No, it's okay, I get it." Sighing, I walk alongside her, "So what's the gossip around here about me so far?"
Angela giggles and points to a girl with brown tresses, "I'm sure Jessica can tell you more than I can. C'mon we have English together."
-------------------
During lunch, I sat with my newfound friends, Jess and Angela. They had filled me in on everyone, practically. Except for the golden eyes I had seen earlier. Luckily, I had the chance to ask since they were walking in right this second."Who are they?" I nod to the people coming in, and Jess glances over, rolling her eyes, "Of course, how could I forget?? Those are the Cullen's. They are Carlisle Cullen's children."
Angela adds right after, "Well his foster children."
A blonde young lady and a dark haired man walks in as Jess says their names, Rosalie and Emmett. The next pair swoop in, Alice and Jasper. Jasper and Rosalie were apparently siblings as was Emmett and Alice.
"They're really odd." I whisper and the blonde's head snaps to me with a weird expression. Her boyfriend leads her away with a hand on her waist, smirking the whole way.
"Well, wait til you see... Speak of the devil, Edward Cullen." Jess sighs dreamily and Angela smiles, "I wish the Cullen's would adopt me."
I give them weird looks before snapping my fingers, "Lovely chat, girls. But I have to stop by the library to get some books for English, I'll see you later."
They just wave at me nonchalantly and I roll my eyes playfully as I stroll away, passing the Cullen's who again stare me down.
What is their problem?
