Chapter 13
I embraced auntie Carol in a tight hug which she immediately responded. she smelt like roses and cinnamon which brought back memories of when we would go to her house as kids and make cinnamon buns and pick roses from her garden which she would then pretend to sell at her shop.
She's a florist with brown silky hair that was cut just past her shoulders. she was slim with lovely curves and looked incredibly young considering she is 43. She was the oldest sibling and she has a husband called Gary who is 42. they also had twins called Jack and Fred who were 17 and we all grew up together.
Speaking of the devils they walked in behind my aunt all blocking up the passage way. I motioned for them all to go to the front room whilst Joyce took up the bags she brought earlier and Jay and I gave auntie carol and the boys a hand with the shopping. Once all packed away I flicked on the switch of the kettle to make everyone tea. Everyone sat at the dinner table and when I walked in to take everyone's drink orders auntie carol was complimenting how mannered Jay was whilst the twins were nagging at his mum to back off with the questions. I giggled and Jay glared at me.
I strolled into the kitchen and made the tea.
"Fancy a helping hand?"
I turned to see Fred leaning on the counter in his grey skinny converse suit/track suit with his matching white converse t-shirt and white low cut trainers. he had blonde hair In a fusey hair cut and had tanned skin. Him and his twin jack looked exactly the same except jack had brown hair, also in a fusey hair cut. they were both 'pretty boys' and took care of themselves and had the ladies praising the ground they walked on. my family was cool.
Anyways,
"Hello Freddy now have you been?"
"I've been good, I go to Westfields quite a lot looking for the ladies with jack as my wingman and vice versa." He said whilst winking. "how have you been?"
"I've been good yeah, I go bluewater."
"Westfields is much bigger which means more room for the ladies."
"Well bluewater girls are more beautiful."
"And how do you know?"
"Because I'm there, duh." I said in an American accent flipping my hair with my hand. "and I'm like, totes adorable."
That earned a chuckle from Freddy and I giggled too.
"I feel like I ain't seen you in forever." he said as he come and engulfed me in a bear hug.
"That's because it has been forever." I said and hugged back. "Mmm you still smell like cinnamon buns." I mumbled in Freddy's shirt.
"You should come round and we'll make them like the good ol' days and I might let you pick a couple of roses." he wriggled me at the end part making me laugh.
"Or you could stay here and we can make them." I said pulling out of his grasp and grabbing the cups and Freddy grabbed the others.
We set them on the table and I sat next to Jay. at some point Harry had come back and had sat down next to Jack. Joyce went to visit her aunty Sally for the weekend and Freddy Jay and my mum were talking about an old memory or something like that. I strolled over to Jay and sat in the seat next to him. I face Harry and Jack and they looked up and nodded at me and then went back to there conversation. I rolled my eyes at how stubborn they are and tried making conversation with them. "so Jack what have you been up to lately?" he looked up from his phone which him and Jay were looking at and looked at me. he simply shrugged his shoulders and went back to his phone.
"I can see you haven't changed at all." he ignored my comment and so did Harry.
I started looking around the room bored and I felt a hand stroke my thigh. I looked down to find the owner of the hand and it was Jay. I looked up to find him already looking at me. I smiled and he smiled back showing his dimples. we looked at eachother for a while before my ain't carol broke us out of our trance. "We was just talking about how Jay and Joyce came round once with you and Harry. you Harry and Joyce were 10, Jay was 11 and the boys were 12, we made cinnamon buns and you all made your initials out of the batter. then you all went hunting for roses except for you and Jay-" she smiled and Freddy butted in.
"-Jay took your hand in his and took you behind the big tree in the back of our garden and kissed you on the lips and said-"
"I said I will love unconditionally." Jay said grabbing my hand underneath the table and squeezing it tight.
I blushed and then smiled at the memory realising that that day was the moment I realised that I loved Jay Smith. I turned to Jay and winked at him and carol stared with a big grin on her face. she's a hopeless romantic. "so are you and Jay together or close or seeing-"
"We are going on a date." I informed.
"When?"
"Actually err we ain't come to -"
"We're going on a date this Friday." Jay blurted out. i looked at him and he gave me a 'is-that-okay-with-you' look and I nodded my head as a sign of yes. I smiled and he gave back his signature smile.
"You guys are so cheesy! hello, I'm lactose and tolerant." Jack waved with a sick expression and made us all laugh.
"Well I suppose I better get dinner on." Aunt carol said standing up from her chair.
"Oh no you don't have to do that i am more than capable of it and it would generally be an honour to cook for you after you bought us all the food in the first place." I started rambling on getting out of my seat.
"No I'm cooking the food Hunny and no ones going to change my mind-" she said and then turned to the rest of us "-okay all do what you want to do but don't come in the kitchen please!" we all nodded in unison and I took Jays hand in mine and motioned for us to go upstairs. Jay wiped the invisible dust off his thighs and stood up from his chair and came with me.
