Only a mere amount of hours had passed before everyone in Hogwarts were aware of the recent happenings. It spread around like a wildfire, and eventually even to Ron, who had mysteriously disappeared that day.
Going back to his dormitory after what Harry thought was one of the worst days of his life, he immediately crashed into the bed and stayed there for what felt like forever.
Even his roommates-- his own friends-- weren't stopping to see if he was alright. They decided that he needed some space and let him be.
Not that it mattered to Harry, anyway. Fixing things up with them would be easier. Right now, all he needed to do was figure everything out. Why Ron's been acting strangely, if Ginny would ever forgive him for his actions, and most importantly, what he and Hermione would become.
It was obvious now that they were more than just friends. Hermione had meant a great deal to him, especially within the past few days. But was it too soon to pursue a relationship?
Just then, Hermione burst into the door.
"Granger! What on earth are you doing in the boy's dormitory?" Seamus asked.
"I just need to talk to Harry. Where is he?" She said nervously.
"Right. Uh-- he's just over there. Guy's been like that for quite a while now." Seamus pointed at Harry, who was still lying on his bed, no emotions in his face.
Hermione rushed to him, shaking him over and over.
"W-what?" Harry said, blinking repeatedly to make sure she was actually there.
"I think I know what might have happened to Ron." She confessed.
Harry sat up instantly.
"Really? Well, what is it then?"
"I'll show you. Come to the library." She took his arm and dragged him out of the room.
--
"So you're saying that some repulsiveness potion was given to him?" Harry asked.
"Yes! I mean, all the signs are pointing to it. Look here," Hermione places her finger on one of the pages of the potions book. "It specifically says that it can drastically change one's emotions in an extremely negative way towards someone-- anyone-- even the person he or she loves the most."
"That's.. That's impossible! How can a tiny potion like that affect someone so badly?"
"Well, according to this, it says you need a small vile of it every three days in order to stop the person from regaining his or her true feelings again."
She sighs.
"Well, it's a start, isn't it?" Harry rubs her on the back.
"Of course, but.. I just don't know who would ever give this to him. No one in school has a motive for that-- who would want Ron and I to separate?" She said as she stared blankly at the shelf.
"That's true. But some students in Hogwarts can get a little too much sometimes. I was almost going to say Draco, but he's not even here anymore, and it still wouldn't make sense." He admitted.
"It wouldn't, but that was still pretty smart. He did hate us throughout our time here, didn't he?" Hermione shot him a small smile.
"I don't know if there was anything he hated more."
She giggled.
"Very true."
Harry suddenly felt the urge to kiss her. Why would he do such a thing? He attempted to shake off his temptations, but it ultimately failed just because of the sight of her amazing smile. He loved that smile. It was something he could look at for ages and not get sick of it.
"You alright?" She asked, moving a piece of hair from his face.
He inched in closer to her, staring into her eyes and cupping her face in his hands. Though he tried really hard not to kiss her, he did it anyway.
It started as a small kiss on her cheek, and slowly progressed to her lips. She was taken at first, but decided to kiss him back with just as much fire and passion. In between kisses, both would smile in delight as it grew more intense.
Harry felt a wave of desires come over him. He couldn't control it. He began to trail down to her neck, kissing it again and again and going deeper with every passing second. Hermione let out a small gasp.
For a moment he forgot there were other people in the library, and was shocked to realize that someone was watching.
"Ahem." A voice popped out from the back.
Hermione and Harry both looked, and were both equally as shocked.
It was Lavender Brown, holding on to Ron's arm playfully.
"Ron, honey, what do you say we give these lovebirds a little space before we tell them?" She giggled.
"Uhh, I'd rather not. I'm not in the mood to see either of them, so I'm just going to break the news to you. Me and Lavender are dating for real again." Ron said, seemingly disinterested.
Hermione began to tear up.
"What, got a problem? You're the one who kissed Harry, you know. At least I waited to break up with you before kissing someone else. Unlike you, Potter. You hurt my sister." He pointed, scowling at him.
"Now, don't be so mean Ron-y!!! Let's go leave them be." Lavender grabbed his hand and kissed him on the cheek, and gave Hermione a menacing look.
