Insecurities

You're beautiful

They say "Keep your head up"
"Don't give up!"
" I love you for who you are"
"Believe in yourself"

But they make you feel so isolated
So indifferent from others
It feels so bad that you want to just disappear

It's funny how your words contrasts your actions, it seems so comforting but it isn't.
I once, wanted to believe in every word you said,
In every word you mouthed,
I wanted to believe in myself and think that I can be just as good as the others.

I.. believed..you....

I didn't know what was coming.
It felt as if I was there sitting on trail tracks,
Feeling the ground shaking,
I did nothing.
But the train came right through me.
Tearing every limb, bone of my body.

You were as fast as the train
I was eager to believe but you made me insane
Paranoid about what others think of me
Thinking too much of what others will see

Your words were poison in disguise
Mistaking it for candy, so sweet
I took it and made believe.
But it suffocated me.

I don't know if you intend to hurt me
Using the sweetness of your words
But it did.

You knew my weakness.
You knew how every opinion matters to me
You destroyed what I believed in.

Walking through the corridors
We stand side by side
People staring as if I wasn't meant to be there
Yeah, they were right.

We were completely different.
You were north
I was south.
No matter how hard I try
I can't catch up with you.

Even with him, I compete.
I try not to but I can't ignore
The fact the you're so much better
That's why he likes you more.

I'm full of flaws that's for sure
Even take a look at my pictures
You might think this is a bit silly
But trust me, I'm full of insecurities.

To those who are feeling the same
Don't worry, they're the ones to blame
For putting us up and bringing us down

I just want you to know
That your beautiful
And you don't need it to show

What i may be saying is a bit cliche
But it's the truth that I wanted to say
Stay who you are
And remember this everyday

You're beautiful and God made you perfect that way...
