City lights so beautiful but they remind me of you
------
Busy streets, lots of people
Pacing back and forth
Time was moving so fast
I can't catch up
I'm still here going back
to the city lights
Looking back at those times
The time that you were mine
When our hands intertwine
We were each other's company
Now all we can say is sorry
The light ran out
It faded away
just like your love
that I thought would stay
The back of my mind saying
Why can't we just start over
Time had you changing
before it was me, now it's her
Crazy how I felt safe
Once in the warm embrace
In the light of your love
I didn't want to escape
But you wanted to let go
What was my mistake?
You were ready to put everything at stake
Now I'm wondering why I sank so low
I cried so many nights
Under the same city lights
No one to hold the pieces you broke
Passing by were the faces
we used to see everyday
now it's just me
on the gutter by the street
There were those city lights
Lighting up the dark night
The sparks used to be there
In the way you held me tight
I can't breathe every time
I try to exhale the pain
but I see the city lights
City lights that remind
Memories left behind..
