"Baekhyun..... It's your dad"

"What happened to dad, mom?" I asked, trying to sound as calm as plausible even tho I'd never felt this scared in my life.

The line went quiet for a while. The horrendous knot that was twisting in my stomach only grew bigger by the second.

"...well...honey....he... your dad got into an acci-...." Her voice broke before she could finish the sentence.
It literally felt like my heart just broke in to a billion pieces. I could not bare the thought of my mother being hurt in any way.
Suddenly she cleared her throat.

"Your father got into an accident." She said. She didn't sound like herself at all, she sounded like all the emotion had been drained out of her.

I honestly couldn't even comprehend the thing she said. Nothing could ever happen to my dad. Right...?

All the horrible thoughts about what could've happened to him suddenly took over my head. The only thing I could think about was my father, hooked up to a bunch of Tubes and IVs in the hospital. Just the thought of that made me feel like crying.

"What...when...how..?!?!??" I asked, panic evident in my voice.

"...He was walking home from work when..." The line went quiet again.
I wanted to scream and cry and break things, yet, I just sat there completely still.

"...when a drunk driver hit him" That was the moment my world completely fell apart.
