I ignored his compliment and rested my palms against my red cheeks, feeling their temperature rise.

Amy and Michael, Mikayla and Niko, I and Louis, had partnered up leaving Daniel. He had to pair with Sherry, the somewhat nice lady. At least that is what she seems.

I was busy looking for a clock when I heard the whistle blow off again. "Gather around! I have the rules for you guys," Sherry yelled and Daniel took two steps away from her. Good going Daniel, she is crazy for yelling so loudly.

I did not bother waiting on for Louis and ran back to the now formed circled. I could hear his footsteps trailing behind. For some reason, I was beginning to feel cold under my oversized sweatshirt. That was probably no importance to Sherry because she continued to blabber.

"...So, any questions?" She looked around one more time, her eyes landing on Amy who was standing beside me.

"Yes, Amy?" She asked extra polite which only led to Amy rolling her green eyes at her.

"We come in the middle of this damn circle with our partner and ask each other questions. The person who hesitates to answer has to do something you tell them to do?" Amy asked in an uncertain tone. She also sounded mad. Overall I am glad that she is asking Sherry this question because I was not paying any attention whatsoever to the rules.

"Yup. That's about it," Sherry nodded and Amy made a funny face.

"And keep the swearing to a minimum," She scolded Amy who stood there with a blank look.

"Now now, that isn't fair," She mocked Sherry's high pitched voice. Amy's imitation was so accurate that all of us burst out laughing. Sherry rolled her eyes. I hope she is not angry because I can see her trying to hide back a smile. Amy, who was so proud of her Sherry impression had a proud look slapped to her makeup-caked face.

"Yes, it is fair. And just for that impression, why don't you and Michael go up first," Sherry smirked at Amy's shocked expression and gestured her to come in the middle.

Groaning and grumbling something incoherent, Amy made her way to the middle of the circle. Michael tagged along with the same blank look on his face. I am starting to think that he hates this place more than we all do.

"Why did you do drugs?" Michael straight up asks Amy. She shrugged and smiled a devilish smile, "for fun." I scoffed, earning a glare from her. Why do drugs for fun?

"I wanted to fit in and drugs helped me fit in," How dumb is she? She shouldn't even be here.

"Where have you lived most of your life?"

"The streets," Amy spoke looking directly at me. I get it. She is claiming her kingdom and giving me a heads up to stay back. Well warning well taken Ouch. But, that is just sad. How did she go to school? Maybe a public one, but you still require an adult for the administration and many other purposes.

"Who did you live with?"

"The hood baby, my gang." That explains her skimpy outfit and inappropriate self.

"When was the last time you did drugs?"

"The morning before the government folks decided to drop me off at this hell hole."

Michael tore his eyes from Amy and faced Sherry, "that's all I have to ask." Sherry nodded and check marked their names off her clipboard which she had been carrying around all day.

Amy smirks and stands up, "Michael when was the last time you self-harmed?"

Michael gulps as a look of fear takes on his face, "seven days ago."

"Hmm, where?"

"My legs," I winced in pain. Amy rolled her eyes at me. I swear to god one day, her eyeballs will just fall out of their sockets.

"Why did yo-" Before Amy could continue tormenting Michael with her questions, Sherry interrupted her.

"I think that you have asked enough questions. Amy, sit beside me and Michael please sit beside Ishita." Michael nodded and took a seat beside me. He casually tilted his head and smiled slightly at me.

"Hey," he whispered as Niko and Mikayla asked each other questions. His eyes were a chocolate brown and I could see some stubble growing on his chin.

"Hey," I whispered back and turned my body a bit more to be comfortable.

"It is sad to hear what happened to you.," He muttered and looked me in the eyes. This is the most attention Michael has paid me ever since he came here.

"You too., Look, I don't need sympathy and I am sure neither do you. Let's just not discuss our private matters alright?" I mumbled and looked at him as blood rose to his cheeks giving his pale skin some color.

"Okay.."

"Ishita and Louis," Sherry said as Daniel sat down. Did they go already?

Louis offered me his hand which I accepted (not gladly) and took a seat in the middle of the circle.

"Ishita, do you like listening to music?"

"Yes I do. It brings me peace, takes me to another world and gives me hope," I said with a strong voice.

"Have you ever lost someone you loved?"

"Never exactly loved anyone," I said. My statement seemed to shock everyone, even Amy. Now that is interesting.

"-Except my family," I quickly added and Sherry nodded in approval.

"Okay. Um, why did you not accept my compliment back there?" Louis pointed to where we were sitting and I blushed. I am so embarrassed right now.

"Because Sherry called us over here." Saved by the bell or whistle..? The world may never know.

"Why were you so uncomfortable about disclosing the horrible thing that happened to you?" Louis asked genuinely concerned. I looked down at my feet and then at Sherry, "I am not hesitating, I am just thinking. Give me a minute."

I looked at Louis whose eyes were flickering between me and Sherry. Why is so handsome? He finally turned to me and gave me his full attention. How do I exactly answer this question?

"Ishita take a little time but let the answer just flow out of you," Sherry said and I laughed, turning around to look at her.

"Why are you making me answer this?" I asked her. She let Michael slide past Amy's horrendous questions.

"Because I know you can answer them," Sherry stated in front of everybody. "Now answer them."

I only looked at Sherry while answering, "Because what happened to me, happened to me. Not anyone else."
