“I know you will, we all will.”
The crowd slowly dispersed and Sarine and Salinas began to walk home.
It was a cloudy day below on the earth when Kendra and Chelnuk appeared outside the walls of the palace hidden by bushes and trees. Kendra looked again at his son, he could see the expectation in his eyes. “I am going to present you to the King as my son. You are to be respectful to him, bow your head and wait until he speaks. Now come.”
They walked out of the bushes and towards the East gate. As he neared the gate guards Kendra stopped, “This is my son Chelnuk. I am going to present him to the King.”
The guards looked at each other for a moment and smiled. “I wish you well,” one said. The other nodded.
At each pair of guards Kendra stopped and introduced his son. Chelnuk felt special.
When they got near the throne room Kendra waited, for the guards outside the doors said that the king had not returned yet from his morning exercise.
“How long has he been?” inquired the Nephilim.
“No longer than usual,” replied the one on the left. Then, within seconds, the king entered the throne room through the garden archway.
Kendra entered and presented Chelnuk, “Your highness, this is my son Chelnuk. I present him at court for your approval.”
Chelnuk lowered his head.
The king looked surprised, “Welcome Chelnuk, I have never seen any of the family of Kendra.”
