Chapter 6

Derek and I are running through this long corridor, man. It's making my feet tired.. Anyway, I got keep on going because without this imbecile I don't really have anyone.

Derek makes a tight turn going in a different direction, I follow behind at the about the same pace. I'm scared to be honest, I can still hear whatever the hell was that a few corridors away from us.

The fool grabs me and throws me into a room and proceeds to lock the door.

-Ouch! What the hell was that for??
-"You aren't fast enough, bro." Said Derek panting.
- You're an ass.
-"You're the same."
-Touché

I sit against the wall with my knees up.. I look at the ceiling while Derek makes sure the door is locked.

-What was that, Derek?- I questioned him faintly.
"I don't really know, man. Been dealing with it for a year now."
-Do you know what it looks like?- I said eying him.
"Yea, i prefer to stay as far as humanely possible. That thing running around this ship, there might be more of em.. "
-I see... Must be pretty terrifying, huh?- I chuckled.

Derek stopped and eyed me with anger in his hazel eyes. I'm pretty generic, Black hair, brown eyes, You know? The basic stuff.

"I had to see that 'thing' murder my friends right before my very eyes. How is that for "pretty terrifying." You asshole, you state how I have no idea what it's like to lose someone I love... Well, buddy, I didn't lose someone.. I lost everyone! The way that 'thing' brutally tore their limbs to shreds.. It was too much for me to even bare.. I had to vomit as i shed tears and nasal fluids... The rest is history.. Point is that if it wasn't for me, you would have ended the same as them. Don't be an asshole to people you barely know, you don't know what they're going through.."

He said that with a tear shedding with anger.. He was right, I barely knew him. I didn't know he lost everything... Man, aren't I just the worst?..

I sigh at those words.. I look up to him..
-I'm sorry, Derek.. I didn't know.-
"It's okay. It happens, you know? Common mistakes we all make.. That's the apart of being human." -He said calmly..

Well i sat still, looking up.. I felt a bit drowsy.. I was hungry... I looked around and I conveniently found a bag of chips.. They had a weird brand name, really hard to pronounce. I checked the expiration date.. I was shocked...
"Eat before June 19th, 2365" I sigh.. I look at Derek as he went back to securing the locks.

-What are we supposed to do?- I asked.

"What do you think? Stay put, don't do anything stupid, stay shut, and stay alive."

-Woooww, I didn't knowww? Do you have a text book with all that info so I can study it?

-He chuckled. "Very funny, dude. Haha, you're a clown."

-And you're an imbecile. -I said sharply.

"Dickhead." -he mumbled
