Chapter 6

After the cops questioned us, me, Ivy and Isaac were escorted home.

"So you're Derek's cousins?" The sheriff asked me. I nodded.

"Yup and you're Stiles' dad right" I said. He nodded.

"Yeah I wasn't too happy about Derek and Stiles dating at first but I know Derek's a good guy and he'll look out for Stiles" The Sheriff smiled. I wished Derek could see things the same way Stiles' dad did.

"Evening Derek there was an incident in the forest, they found a dead body" The sheriff told him.

"Are you guys okay?" Derek asked sternly. Ivy pushed past him and went up the stairs.

"Ivy come back" He called. She walked up the stairs and slammed the bedroom door.

"What was all that about?" The sheriff asked. Derek sighed.

"She won't talk to me because I got mad about her dating Scott McCall" He gritted his teeth.

"Well Scott's a good kid you know, I've known him since he was young" The sheriff told Derek.

"Yeah well he's a good kid for someone else" Derek growled.

"Derek I'm not gonna tell you what to do but let me put it to you this way, when I found out about you and Stiles, I loaded my gun while Stiles begged me to stop and then he told me how much he cared about you and how happy you made him and well, I just couldn't say anything to that cause all I want is for Stiles to be happy" He said. Derek looked down at the ground.

"Well I better head, I've got a murder case to take care of" He tipped his hat at Derek and got into his car.

"Why aren't you watching Chris Argent?" I asked Derek.

"He went drinking with a couple other hunters that came to town so I figured he'd be fine, now tell me about the body" He said.

"Well she was the same age as Ivy and she was hanging from a tree and she had this weird looking symbol carved into her head" I told him.

"Yeah Ivy thinks it's the Alpha ritual and we called Deaton, he said he'd have to see the symbol to know for sure, but he thinks that's what it it, Stiles is gonna try and get pictures of the symbol from his dad" Isaac explained. Derek nodded his head.

"Okay you two need to go and watch Chris Argent and those hunters he's with get Erica to help you and tell Jackson and Boyde to watch Scott. I need to take care of something" He told us.

"What about Ivy?" I quizzed.

"I'll watch her" He assured us. Isaac and I nodded and headed for the Argents place.

Ivy's P.O.V

I was sitting in my room texting Scott when Derek walked in. I looked up and then back at my crappy phone. I was still super pissed off with him. I didn't plan on talking to him any time soon.

"Can we talk?" He asked. I didn't look up at him I just pretended he wasn't there. He walked over and sat on Jenna's bed.

"Please, Ivy just hear me out okay" He said. I kept staring down at my phone.

"Ivy I'm sorry, I realise that I may have overreacted" He told me. 'Overreacted?! That is a severe understatment asshole" I thought to myself.

"That last time I knew you, you were 10 years old, you still played with barbie dolls and you wore frilly dresses and you were so small and it's hard for me to not think of you that way, so seeing you with Scott, got me a little angry cause I guess I still think of you as that little girl" He said. I looked up at Derek and saw that he was genuinely sorry. I could also tell how much it killed him to open up like that.

"I don't know what else I can say Ivy, I'm sorry and I'll leave Scott alone too" He stood up and headed for the door. I thought about letting him leave but I couldn't do it.

"Derek, wait" I called. He turned his head back.

"I forgive you, but you have to apologize to Scott and you can't ever hurt him again" I told him. He nodded.

"I promise Ivy" He said. I held up my pinky he sighed and walked over to me. He hooked his pinky to mine and then let go. Then I hit him on the arm.

"You better keep this pinky promise or else I really won't ever talk to you again" I warned him. He rolled his eyes and nodded. I hugged him tightly.

"If it makes you feel any better I still think of you as that 16 year old who used to take us out for ice cream and let me put make-up on him, maybe you should be more like him" I said. Derek pulled back.

"If I do will you stop dating Scott?" He quizzed. I glared at him.

"Well it was worth a try" Derek sighed.

Jenna's P.O.V

When Isaac and I got home from watching Chris Argent, we found Derek and Ivy asleep on the couch with Miss congeneality playing on the tv.

"I guess they made up" Isaac shrugged.

"Does that mean he's warmed up to the idea of Ivy and Scott dating?" I quizzed. Isaac shrugged.

"I guess so other wise Ivy wouldn't be talking to him" He said.

"Or maybe you two should ask Ivy when she's awake"Derek grunted.

"Oh uh morning Derek" I smiled.

"Mhm." He slowly got off the couch not trying to wake Ivy.

"So did you apologise to Ivy?" I asked him.

"Ask Ivy" He replied.

"Did you apologise to Scott?" Isaac questioned.

"Ask Ivy" He sighed.

"You two had a really soppy family moment didn't you" I teased. Derek rolled his eyes and walked up the stairs.

"Wait I have one more question" I called. He turned around.

"What?" He sighed.

"How many times did you watch that movie?" I laughed.

"Too many" He growled. Isaac and I burst out laughing. Derek shook his head and walked up the stairs mumbling to himself.

Later that night Derek called us all for a meeting.

"So Deaton confirmed that the body you found was the innocent needed for the Alpha ritual, that means the next part is a hunter so we need to have someone watching every hunter in town. Now as far as I know there are three in town right now. Chris Argent and two others so me, Boyde and Erica will watch Chris Argent. Scott, Jackson and Ivy will watch John Banner and Isaac and Jenna will watch Adam Lawrence" Derek told us.

"Uh what about me,Lydia and Allison what will we do?" Stiles asked.

"You can stay out of danger" Derek told him.

"Derek I'm not incapable, I can help. Do I need to remind you who helped you kill Peter the first time" He said.

"Wait what do you mean killed Peter first?" I quizzed.

"Oh um they killed Peter but then he used to Lydia to come back to life" Scott told me.

"I wish he'd stayed dead" Ivy mumbled. Scott put his arm around her and pulled her close. Derek gritted his teeth and look back at Stiles.

"Stiles I don't want you to get hurt okay, so just please stay out of danger" Derek told him.

"Fine I'll just go with someone else then" He looked over at me and Isaac. "Is it okay if I go with you guys?" He asked. I looked over at Derek who was glaring at me.

"Well I can't stop you" I shrugged. Derek sighed.

"Fine Stiles you can go with Jenna and Isaac, Allison and Lydia you two need to go to Deaton and see if there's anything else we can do to stop him" Derek ordered.

"I can't my parents are forcing me to stay home tonight" Lydia explained.

"Fine, Allison can you go yourself?" He asked her. She nodded in response and we all went out to watch the hunters.
