Mira's POV
My life is total crap. I live in space, meaning I have no place to run. My mom died trying to protect her people and my father executed her death. Tell me, is that not enough to be a complete wreck?
"Prisoner 320." A guard said marching into my cell while another stood outside holding a metallic box.
I sprang to my feet and moved toward my bed and grabbed the knife I smuggled under my pillow from my lunch today.
"STOP!" I cried as another guard marched into my cell and roughly put some bracelet thing on my wrist, "I'll kill you! Get your hands off me!"
the needles in the thing cut through my wrist, implanting itself in me as the knife was stripped out of my fingers, "HEY! I NEEDED THAT!"
The guard shook his head as if disappointed before bending and breaking the knife. Sure it was plastic, but I could've done some real damage to his eyes with it.
"Mira, you're really something." He chuckled.
Oh great, one of the guards under my dad's orders. I'mm gonna be ridiculed before I meet my death.
"NO! Listen to me, There's a week before I even turn 17. You can't float me yet. IM NOT EIGHTEEN!" I yelled as I kicked them both away.
"I got this one." A familiar voice spoke up, "You can step out I'll bring her."
Perks of having the head guard as your father, you get five minutes more of life before you get floated.
"Dad?" I questioned out of confusion.
"Mira... Sweetheart, you're being sent to the ground." He whispered as the guards left.
"What- No. Daddy, please. We don't know if it's survivable." I cried trying to take my arm out of his grasp, I wanted to run, but then again, I'm in space- there is nowhere to hide.
"All 100 of the kids locked up are being sent down." He replied softly placing his hand on mine to pull me off the floor.
"It's because of what we found out from Clarke's father isn't it?" I moved away from him, "It's getting worse, huh?"
"Mira you need to go." He sighed before grabbing my arm and pushing me along with him.
"DAD! No!" I cried harder as I plead, "Don't make me!"
"Mira you have to. Jaha's orders-"
"He's sending us? Reducing population huh?" I asked, "Everyone knows it's not safe there!"
"We believe in you all." He said with a stern look that I wasn't buying.
"You're gonna kill me just like you killed my mom!" I yelled just as we neared a crowd of delinquents and guards.
"I love you, Mira." He said trying to hug me but I pushed him back.
"You didn't love me enough. I hate you, Kane." I replied at last before entering the dropship.
I took my seat next to my passed out friend, Clarke.
"That's the last of them!" I heard someone yell as they shut the door of the ship. One way ticket to hell.
~
"Wakey, Wakey." I faked a smile as Clarke's eyes fluttered open.
Clarke Griffin has been my best friend since I could remember. We go way back, we literally hung out in each other's cribs.
"Mira?" She smiled seeing my face, "I missed you."
"Welcome back." Wells chuckled causing Clarke to snap her neck around to face him.
