"You won't die right?"  She whispers, looking at him curiously.

     "Y-yeah... b-but your-" He starts.

"Good, I'll be right back" She scrambles to her feet and runs back into the flaming house.

"Wait!" He scrambles to his feet as well.

Surprisingly he could still stand, even though his leg still stug like Lleh; Er.. the underworldThat's the weird thing about not being Latrom anymore, you have strange new abilities and breaking points. He runs after her, only because she saved his life and had not killed him afterwards. He sucks in a breath before venturing into the burning house.

The smoke stung his eyes as he plunged deeper into the house. Most of the furniture had been reduced to large piles of ashes, or flaming materials. He looked around wildly for the girl, his eyes watering so much that he could hardly see. He saw a shadow dart across the room and into a doorway. Alexander lumbers after the figure, gagging on the burnt flavor on his tongue.

Ducking into the room he blinks away the tears in his eyes and wipes the perspiration from his forehead. He sees the girl fall to her knees and bury her face in her hands. She was bent over a broken figure laying on the ground. It was a young boy, about 13 years old by the looks of it. His eyes were shut and his shirt was charred from the hem to the collar. He was mumbling something to the girl. The girl nodded quickly, touching the boy's cheek gently, murmuring something in reply. The boy's mouth twitched into a small smile before he went rigid and then stopped moving altogether.

Alexander backed up, feeling as if he ws intruding on a private moment. That boy... He'd died right before his eyes. A loud crack echoed above and Alexander shot a look up at the beams, holding the roof up. It was engulfed in flames, starting to split threateningly.

"Watch out!" He yelped and charged into the room, grabbing the girl's arm and pulling her out of the way.

The beam came crashing down on top of the boy, shielding him from view.

"NO!" The girl screamed, tears spilling down her cheeks.

Alexander tugged at her arm again.

"We have to go" He whispers softly.

He half dragged her out of the house, having a close call with burning wood.

As soon as they were safely outside, she collapsed sobbing on the front steps. Eerie sirens echoed down the street. Someone must have called the fire department. That was one thing that was the same from the Latrom world. He gazed at the truck coming closer. He didn't know how to comfort her, she'd probably lost someone important. He hadn't really ever known that feeling, especially when seeing their death. He closed his eyes and sank down on his knees, he was completely exhausted.
