Cheater, Cheater

Betty Cooper was closing her locker when her best friend ran up to her.
"Hey B?" Veronica Lodge asked, twirling a strand of her dark hair around her finger, "Can I tell you something?"
"Sure." Betty said. "Let's grab Archie and Jughead and head to Pop's. You can tell me on the way there."
Veronica put out a hand to stop her.
"Actually, it's about Archie..."
Betty's smile disappeared and was replaced by a look of worry. "What happened? Is he okay?"
"He's fine. I just saw him kissing Cheryl. I was slower than usual today getting my gym bag packed, and I walked out and saw them by Jason's memorial."
"W-what? He told me he was over her. You don't think he's been cheating on me the whole time we've been together do you?"
"I don't know B."
"Well, there's only one way to find out. C'mon V." Betty grabbed her friends hand and started down the long hallway that lead to the field and Jason's memorial.
"What the hell?!" Betty said, coming to a stop. The sight in front of her made her want to vomit. Her boyfriend was indeed kissing Cheryl Blossom.
Archie looked up, frightened. "Betty, I-"
"How long Archie?" Betty said, cutting him off.
"Eight months." Archie mumbled, looking at anything other than his irate girlfriend and her equally pissed off best friend.
"I trusted you. Veronica told me I was going to get hurt, and I ignored her. Because I loved you."
"Poor Betty. I almost feel bad. Wait.. no I don't." Cheryl said, smirking.
"You little vindictive bi-" Veronica started, lunging for the cheer captain.
Veronica knew if she hurt Cheryl in any way, she would be unable to be a Rivervixen, but quite frankly, she didn't care. Her best friend was more important.
"She's not even worth it Veronica. Let's go."
Betty and Veronica made their way back inside the school.
"Who are you texting?" Veronica asked curiously.
"Jughead." Betty answered. "I'm telling him what happened, and asking if he wants to grab a milkshake at Pop's with us."

"He's going to come with us. He said he would be here soon."
"He's here. And he looks pissed." Veronica said, pointing toward the doorway.
Jughead saw the two of them and ran over.
"Where is he?" Jughead questioned. Betty looked down and saw his hands were shaking.
"By Jason's memorial. But what are you-"
Before Betty could finish her sentence, Jughead was gone.
The two girls shared a look and took off after Jughead.
By the time they reached the two boys, Jughead had Archie pinned against a tree with one hand. He was using his other hand to punch Archie in the face.
Archie saw Veronica. "Ronnie, tell Jughead to stop punching me. Please."
Veronica glared at him. "My name isn't Ronnie. It's Veronica. My friends are the only people allowed to give me nicknames. And you lost that right when you hurt Betty."
Archie turned to Betty. "Betty, I still-"
"Don't you dare tell her you still love her. Because if you did, you wouldn't have cheated. If you did, you would listen when she told you about Polly. If you did, you would have been there when she was crying at two a.m. if you did, you would know she hates the crust on her bread. Her favorite song is Perfect by Ed Sheeran.  She hates thunderstorms. She wants to become a writer. When she cares about someone, she won't give up on them. She joined cheerleading, not because she likes it, but because it's the one thing her mother can't micromanage. Don't say you love her if you don't know all that." Jughead said, finally letting Archie fall to the ground.
He turned to face Betty and Veronica, whose jaws were hanging open. "You girls ready to go to Pop's?"
They nodded.
"Excellent."
The trio pulled up to the neon lit diner.
Veronica spoke first. "Betty, go on in. I've got to talk to Jughead."
Betty exited the car. Once she was completely inside the diner, Veronica turned to look at Jughead.
"How did you know all that stuff about Betty?"
Jughead took a deep breath. "I'm in love with her. I've been in love with her since we were kids."
