It's been about a month, and you began to feel suspicious of things going too well, and your paranoia was increasing. Every now and then, when you're out reaping souls, you'd often see a flash of red, or recognize the scent of roses out of nowhere. Around the office, nothing was different, but you could often sense someone's presence pacing up and down the hall, unaccompanied by footsteps. The feeling of her eyes burning into your skin, watching you still hasn't gone away, but in fact gotten worse, especially when zoned into your paperwork or trying to fall asleep. You'll feel the where the cuts were on your face occasionally sting, although by now they were turning to scars. Something was up, but you had no proof to go on, no actual sightings of her, nothing. You wanted to tell William, but, you didn't know how to explain what was happening logically. Something inside you kept saying 'She's searching for you, she's going to find you' and perhaps she was. Maybe, perhaps, she had moved on to someone else to be obsessed over, although it was a terrible thing for said person- fuck it. She's gone, that's all that matters. She's not allowed around you, and you were only paranoid due to what she put you through. Or so you thought. You haven't seen William in a couple days, but you attempted to reason with yourself that it's only a couple days, he could be sick, or just maybe he was out reaping souls whenever you dropped off your paperwork. This still didn't stop the thoughts of Grell having something to do with it. It sickened you, what she could possibly be capable of if she found you again. Not that it would ever happen, you reminded yourself, as you tried to concentrate on your paperwork. You kept trying to zone into it, but the recurring thoughts kept wedging themselves back into your mind; being a constant distraction. You kept trying to get through the stack of papers, only to have your head snap up at the sudden scent of roses. Illogical, you would've heard her coming. She's not here. She's gone. You had to get these thoughts out of your head, but it seemed impossible with the constant feeling of being watched. Her eyes never left, did they? With that last sting as you left- finally. You took the stack of completed papers, leaving your office and feeling the same breath down your neck, though you knew damn well no one was behind you. Regardless, it still sent tremors down your spine as you made your way to William's office, opened the door, and yet again... he wasn't there. Oddly enough, your stack of completed work was still there, as was Grell's. The sight of her name made your face curl into a snarl, though these effects still lasted, you were thankful for at least the lack of her physical presence. Per usual, you checked for overtime work for you, and there was none. You left the office, went home, though every night you chose a new route to avoid detection. You unlocked the door, stepped in, locked it, changed out of your work clothes, into your lounge clothes quickly, and crawling into bed. Spasms prevented you from laying still, with each one was a burning sensation of eyes watching you. You could feel her presence- she wasn't there. She's not here. You're not there. She doesn't know this place, she can't find you. You flooded your brain with these thoughts to try and ease yourself to sleep, blocking every paranoid thought, then feeling a convulsion, the eyes burning into your skin, hugging yourself tightly, tossing and turning frantically to relieve it. You stayed in this frantic state for about 15 minutes, slowly calming down and tiring yourself out until you fell asleep... Perhaps William would be back, maybe- ah, fuck it. You should just sleep.
