i ask, sick and tired of them staring at me.
"aw, how cute"
one of the girls speaks up, while putting her tanned leg a little bit more forward.
"our little baby isn't happy"
i look around the empty, grey hallway and become tinier and tinier when more words come out of her poisoned mouth.
"i've only known you for three days, but i bet you don't even have a boyfriend."
i can feel my face redden.
fuck. i indeed don't have one, but i can't tell that to cé, the most pretty girl at my school who just loves to see other people suffer.
so, i decide to do something very dumb.
maybe even the dumbest thing i've done in my entire life.
"actually, i do"
i say, with a cracked voice.
i lied.
cé raises a cheeky eyebrow at me.
"oh"
i tilt up my head a little, sticking my chin in the air, my face still a slight shade of red.
"who?"
shit. there's nothing i can do, i can't go back right now. i've gotten myself in trouble, as usual.
just as i'm about to tell them the embarrassing truth, i feel warm, big hands placing themselves around my waist.
then i hear a deep, rough yet soothing voice speak up.
"i am her boyfriend"
