i turn around to look into the astonishing eyes of manu rios, the most handsome boy at school.

he gives me a subtle wink, that only i can see.

"manu, what the fuck? don't tell me you're dating this girl?"

i almost snap back but i can press my lips together just in time.

"yes cé, i am dating her"
manu sounds so sure.

i'm shook. i can't think of anything to do than just stand there, confused.

manu's hand rubs my back and he gives me a little smile.

what in hell is he doing?

i smile back awkwardly but still don't know what i should do.

cé thinks a second before saying what i feared most.
"proof it"

manu turns his head around and looks me in the eye. i feel my cheeks redden as he leans in closer.

oh god, he's going to kiss me.

manu closes his eyes and i hesitate a second,
but all of my doubts disappear when i feel his soft, plump lips touching mine gently.

it's like my lips are exploding and i'd never want it to stop.

manu slowly pulls away.

i bend my head downwards, not wanting him to see how awkward i am.

"i guess i'll leave you two than"
cé says, her voice even bitchier than usual, if that is possible.

i can hear her heels click down the hallway, and i keep my head looking downwards until the last echo is gone.

i feel his hand touch my upper arm.
i let my eyes slide upwards him, starting at his shoes, than moving over his legs to his hips, his muscular chest, and finally, his face.

he bites his lip.
"are you okay?"
his voice cracks a little, which is so goddamn hot.

"yeah"
he doesn't really know what to say.

"thanks i guess"
i say, finally.

"it was the right thing to do"

i take a deep breath before asking the question i had been replaying in my mind for several times.

"why did you do that?"

his eyes widen, manu clearly didn't expect it. he furrows his eyebrows and seems to hesitate a second before answering me with carefully selected words.

" i saw them bullying you for a while now, and i wanted to help you "

"i could've rescued myself"

he gives me a knowing look.
"no, you didn't"

i stay quiet.
manu is right. i can't handle them myself.

"so", manu begins.
"maybe we can go grab some lunch, since you're like-" he stops his sentence for a few seconds and takes a deep breath, "-my girlfriend"

my face turns a bright shade of red as he speaks those words.

my girlfriend.

"s-sure" i say.

manu grabs my hand and we walk through the hallway.
at the end we turn left, leaving the school behind us.

"let's go to the coffeeshop?"
manu asks, turning his head towards me.

oh god, he is so pretty. he's wearing a soft grey sweater paired with black trousers.  i close my eyes and i can smell his eau de cologne.

"which one? i-"

"-i wanted to go to-"
he accidentally interrupts me.

"oh, i'm sorry"
i can see the awkwardness on his face.

i give him a smile, what calms him a little. "it's nothing, you go on"

he smiles happily. "i wanted to go to arabica, that's a-"

now it's my turn to interrupt him.
"oh my god i love arabica! i like, literally always go there! did you try the-"

manu gets excited too.
"you mean the cocoa latté?
that one is just soooo good"

"that's what i was about to say!"
i laugh.

"i've never met anyone who likes arabica too! most people don't even know it exists"

"me neither!"
manu has this sparkle in his eyes, it makes him look even more magical than normally.

we both look at each other excitingly. suddenly manu stops walking and we stare in each other's eyes.

how can a person be so pretty?

oh god no, i can't fall in love with him, we're only pretend. none of the things we're doing is real.

after a good 10 seconds i turn my face to the other side, because it was getting awkward.

manu lets go of my hand and he rinses it through his hair.

"we should probably step a little quicker, it can be quite busy at this time" he says, and i can detect a slight nervousness in his tone.

"yeah, we should"
