The relentless torrent pulls her under as she goes limp. What kind of Sea Goddess drowns? She stares aimlessly at the iridescent sunlight streaming through the azure waters as the water pressure steadily increases. Maybe I won't have to die if I quickly shift.
Swiftly she morhped into a strong swordfish and darted free of the treacherous current. Slipping into mermaid form she swam to shore. Mocked laughter greets her.

"Honestly Zin-Zin why did you even bother?" She heard the condescending sneer of Adelai, her elder sister. She rolled her eyes inwardly.
"Because I can." She said defiantly.
"Really? As you just demonstrated?" Adelai retorted.
"It was obviously an unfortunate accident caused by your bad vibes." Zinzia shot back.
"Blame me for being a perpetual guppy why don't you."
Having had enough of the bickering, Zinzia swam off.
"As if you can run," she laughed as she swam at blinding speed past me. I'm swimming. Not running. She hissed her teeth and rolled her eyes. Slowly she drifted along the gentle current along Negril's coral reefs. Surrounded by the captivating coral, perfectly still or contorting to look like wan trees in a gale, she enjoyed the sights they offered. Their colors and bioluminescence filled her artist's mind with splendid imagery which induced a wonderment and appreciation for her sea-life. She wandered, purposely taking every route to avoid the quickest way home. But, alas, she had to get there eventually.

Upon arival at her father's palace she is met by her father's head butler and her confidant.
"Zia! You've been gone all day, why," he whined pouting a plump lower lip as he leaned toward her for a hug.
Smiling sweetly she embraced his broad shoulders and stroked his finned hands.
"Aw, Leo, my bad but you know me and the currents already, I get all caught up."
"That pun was disgusting." He replied dryly. She grins.
"So on a scale of Adolf Hitler to Satan, how mad is he?" she asks referring to her father as Leonel leads her to the Grand Hall.
"I have no idea what those are."
"Oh yeah... Whoops."
"Why am I friends with you?"
"Shut up, you love me."
"No. And your Dad is furious."
Zinzia gasps. "So you do get the reference!" They laugh as they enter the Grand Hall where her father usually presides over the Pearls of Present to address pressing matters in his kingdom.
"Zinzia Vinos."
