Chapter 6
Nick boarded the flight and Alex followed right behind him, "Did you tell Samantha you weren't gonna be here?" Alex asked curiously, "No...I kinda just walked out without saying bye." He said as they took their seats.
"That's rude! I would have dumped you on the spot." Alex said, "Plus she doesn't deserve that, she could comfort you and help you man. Call her right now!" He continued as they buckled up. "Okay." Nick said and he pulled out his phone and called her number.
"Hello?" She said sounding like she had just woken up, "Good morning Princess. I'm sorry for being rude to you yesterday...my uh, my mom died and my aunt called me and told me I need to come down to Florida. I should have told you but I was so shocked...I'm sorry. That was a jerk move and I should never have done that." He said really meaning it. "It's fine, I understand but next time i'll punch you so hard you'll die. If you need me, i'm here for you. I'm sorry for your loss." She said honestly.
"Thanks...I'll see you very soon." He said sadly. "See you then!" She said before hanging up. Alex noded, "Gosh I've been giving you so much adivce lately...I should write a book." Alex said laughing when Nick glared at him. Nick fell asleep on the flight and woke up when they had arrived, Alex was sipping coffee and rolling his neck. "How did you sleep that whole time?" Alex said rubbing his neck, "My neck is killing me from this stupid seat." He said getting up when the plane started allowing the passengers off. He stretched and Nick followed him as they got off the plane.
"I need some gum to pop my ears." Nick said yawning and scratching the back of his head. They headed to the baggage claim and they found their suitcases rather quickly. They walked to a small shop in the airport and Nick brought a pack of gum and gave Alex a piece after chewing a piece of gum.
"Ahh...So much better. Aunt Cleo should be here soon." He said as they headed to the pick-up area. There they say their aunt who was a small, round woman with short curly blonde hair and emerald green eyes.
"Alex? Nick? You two have grown up so much!" She said somewhat excited and sad at the same time, "Hey Auntie Cleo." They both said enveloping her in hugs, "I parked over here...the family cant wait to see you guys." They followed her and it would take about an hour to arrive at Cleo's house which was a small house in a cozy neighborhood.
"So how's Ariana?" She asked keeping her eyes on the road, "She's amazing, she is flying down later tonight. She couldn't get out of work. Oh Auntie Cleo! Nick has a girlfriend!" He announced making Nick look at him with wild eyes.
Last time when auntie Cleo found out about Nicole, she made a drama scene because she didn't think anyone was good enough him. "Really? Is she coming down too?" She asked curiously looking over at Nick. "I didn't invite her...plus she didn't know mom and we haven't been dating that long yet." Aunt Cleo laughed, "You should invite her...the family could use a distraction for a day." She suggested and Alex agreed.
"Then it's decided!" They both said and he sighed, "Call her now!" Aunt Cleo said excited. Nick shook his head and pulled out his phone and dialed Samantha's number and after a few rings she answered. "Hello?" She said, "Hey Samantha...um, I was wondering if you'd want to come down to Florida. My family wants to meet you and I think it'd be good for us. It's only for the week." He said running his fingers through his hair nervously.
"I would love to! I can probably convince Jax to let me off for the week." She said smiling, "Great! I can buy you a ticket and send you the boarding pass..." He suggested. "You don't have to...I can manage...I'll see if I can get a flight for tonight." She said going onto a travel website.
"Anyways I got to go...see you soon." She said, "Ok bye. I-I- I'll see you soon." He said hanging up and letting out a breath he didn't even know he was holding in. "I love her but when it comes to telling her I get nervous and studder." He said annoyed at himself.
