(Y/n) sits on the edge of the swimming pool, the freezing, turquoise water lapping at her feet. She shudders, shuffling back to the comfort of the dry land, enjoying the heat tanning on her face as she sprawls across a sunbed.

Ahead of her in the swimming pool, there are many people, but the girl's
(e/c) eyes spot her six friends from the busy crowd.

The crimson-haired guy stands diligently beside the pool, wearing shorts and a pair of prescribed sunglasses, peering at his phone. In the water, his coal-haired friend is wearing a similar fashion, but the male is stretched out on a float, sipping a can of pepsi, dark eyes hidden behind designer shades.

Beside him in the deep waves of the sparking pool, his blonde and azure friends are entertaining themselves with a beach ball, laughing with one another, while the brunette male stays close by, his gentle, green eyes watching the scene, amused.

(Y/n) grins at her friends behind huge shades, slightly bewildered. It is a lot to take in.

The girl's (e/c) eyes search for a certain, quiet guy, and she immediately spots him, sat at the edge of the pool. She approaches the magenta eyed male with a smile.

"Hey, Alex." The female says brightly, squatting down to her knees so she is facing her friend. His face lights up a little at the sight of the girl, pleased that she had come to visit her. "Hey,
(Y/n). It's a nice day today." The girl nods in agreement.

"Yeah, the weather is gorgeous!" The quiet boy stares up at the female, squinting a little, not entirely because of the sun, but because of how beautiful her smile is too much to take in.

"So..." (Y/n) goes on "Aren't you going in the pool with everyone else?"

Alex grimaces a little, paddling his feet in the shallow, turquoise water, his brown hair glinting, bringing out the gold tips on the ends.

'Oh shoot, can he not swim?!'

(Y/n) subsides when she realises that the male may not have any experience in swimming, and suddenly feels ashamed for embarrassing her friend. Before she can apologise, Alex states a reply to the flustered female.

"I can swim." He tells her with his usual blank expression, but with a tone of reassurance in his voice, easing the girl a little.

Before she can reply, the sound of running feet and sudden, confused protests startle the two teenagers as they peer behind them.

Splash!

The blonde boy, Ryo, pushes his struggling, red-headed friend into the deep end of the swimming pool in a suprise attack, causing a huge splash as the boy's phone and sunglasses fall in with him. Ryo laughs, clutching his stomach at his annoyed friend slips on his prescribed sunglasses, in order to see, and quickly glides through the water to the edge of the pool.

(Y/n) stops laughing, and her shoulders slump a little as realisation hits her. 'Great, Kaito can swim too?! Guess that makes me the only one incapable of going in the pool.'

"Idiot." Kaito mutters to the blonde, his red hair now soaked. Ryo continues to laughat his scowling friend, but suddenly he turns his attention away from his best friend to something more interesting.

'Well, it's not surprising. Despite their tragic backgrounds, all of them have obviously had swimming lessons and luxury resort holidays as kids, seeing as their all rich.' The girl whines inside her head, lost in thought.

Ryo sneaks up on the girl, who has no realisation of his presence, as he raises himself behind her face. Suddenly, a pair of hands snatch away the female's sunglasses, causing her slight shock, and strangely, causing Alex to be quite interested instead of angry or overprotective.

Ryo stares at his best friend holding
(Y/n)'s sunglasses with slight annoyance heating on his face. Kaito winks at the perplexed boy with an expression that simply reads bittersweet revenge.

"Hmm, I wonder how these sunglasses ended up here?" The crimson-haired intellectual teases, and (Y/n) rolls her eyes. "Ha ha, I'm dying with laughter." The female tells him mockingly "Give them here, Kaito."

The auzar-haired male steps out of the deep, blue water, his blue eyes twinkling. He looks exotic as his features blend with the water so well. Instantly, he pulls on a t-shirt to cover the large scar on his back.

"Hey, (Y/n)..." He frowns a little at the
(h/c) haired girl as water drips from his dark blue hair "Aren't you going for a swim?"
(Y/n) hesitates a little, looking for a suitable response. "I will later, Bako." Bako shrugs his shoulders and jumps back in the pool. "I'll look forward to it!" He grins at her as he splashes around with the brunette friend, Jin.

(Y/n) turns her gaze back to the intellectual, sighing as she holds out her hand for her sunglasses, clasped in the boy's clutches.

The girl expects him to chuck the sunglasses in the water with a snide remark, but to her suprise, Kaito leans forward towards the girl, so close that she can inhale the scent of chlorine in his damp red hair.

"If you can catch me first." He whispers in her (h/c) hair, and to her extreme surprise, Kaito runs forward and grabs onto the girl's arm to encourage her to chase after him, before releasing her arm to disappear with the sunglasses, weaving through the crowds.

"Kaito, wait!" (Y/n) helplessly calls out to him, extremely confused at the intellectual's sudden playful attitude.

'This is so unlike him... He is usually so stern, so serious and even cruel. Hmm...'

(Y/n) shrugs and chases after him, wearing only sandals and an overdress on top of her swimsuit, delighted at the guy's new behaviour, laughing through pants as she follows his red head through the crowd.

Finally with her sunglasses safely placed behind her (e/c) eyes, (Y/n) and Kaito laugh as they make it back to the poolside.

'I don't understand.. Why is he being so nice?' (Y/n) thought to herself. She smiles, enjoying this 'New Kaito'.

The intellectual is about to tell the girl something, when he hears the brunette guy calling him from the pool, holding up Kaito's phone as he swims around in the turquoise water.

"Hey, umm..." Jin grimaces with a pitying face as he sees his friend's shocked face. "Kaito?"

The crimson-haired guy cringes as he puts his hands in his shorts, his teal eyes flickering. "Oh shoot!" He swears and runs towards his obviously damaged phone, that had been lying on the bottom of the swimming pool floor for the past half hour, leaving
(Y/n) in much confusion.

'He never loses his chill like that." The female unintentionally says out loud as she watches her strange friend dash away.

"I agree with you." Cold hands place on the girl's shoulder as a guy whispers into her hair. (Y/n) flinches at their touch.
