Theo's point of view

I ran my hand repeatedly through her hair, feeling it fall through my fingers, over and over again.

She stirred slightly, whimpered and then fell back to sleep, cuddling deeper into my chest. Her slender body fitted right with mine.

Heaving a yawn, I too was soon asleep.

"Beauty! I have awoken for your sake only." Sebastian's voice resonated throughout the apartment.

"I am not your beauty!" Kitty replied back.

"Rosie!" I shot out of bed, to make sure she was still asleep.

I opened her room door slowly, hoping she wouldn't be disturbed. I halted. Hardy and Rosie were playing on the floor.

"Chill, paranoia. I'm watching them." Clayton spoke from behind me, holding a bottle of warm milk.

"Thanks." I mumbled and left them to their devices.

I don't know why I hated Clayton. Maybe I was paranoid, but I just couldn't help but have this unsettling feeling about him.

He wasn't bodyguard material. Heck, he didn't even look buff. Where did her father find this guy?

"Hey, brother! There's an endless road to rediscover. Ooh, if the sky comes falling down, there's nothing that I wouldn't do for you." Sebastian sang, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Why must you be so awake, so early in the morning?" I mumbled as I seated myself, after washing up.

"It's because we have a big day so you need to eat up while beauty goes to wake up Misty. "

"Misty?"

"Your girlfriend."

"Miranda."

"Somebody called?"

And there she stood, already dressed in a flowy sundress, and wearing strapped sandals.

"I heard we're going to the beach." Miranda shrugged, shying away from my gaze.

"Coffee' s ready!" Sebastian suddenly yelled.

"Beat you!" Lisa shouted as she plonked herself on a chair. Hardy ran in soon after and then, Clayton- feigning exhaustion- collapsed on a chair with Rosie in his arms.

"You are not giving the kids coffee." I said.

"They need energy." Sebastian whined.

While the two bickered, I noticed Miranda leave.

Miranda's P.O.V

"Kitty?"

"I'm fine!" She shouted from the bathroom.

The bickering I'm the kitchen quitened down andI could hear her sniffling.

"Kitty, what's going on?" Tried opening the bathroom door, but it didn't budge.

"Theo!" He was already by my side when I called him.

He pushed hard against the door repeatedly before it flew open.

Kitty, was on the floor, in a puddle of water. Making quick of his work, Theo lifted her onto  to the wheel chair. I grabbed her towel, ready to wrap around her naked frame.

Theo stood with uncertainty by the door. I shooed him away.

"I... I always do it right. I just slipped on the water." She sniffled.

"It's okay, it's okay... Shhh. Let's clean you up and dress you and then we can talk about this.

I put in her underwear, and then her shorts and a huge t-shirt. I noticed her bruised back, but I said nothing.

Wheeling her into the bedroom, I closed the door, then sat on the bed.

"Kitty... please, firstly don't lock the door. What if you were near death and it was just me?"

"I'm sorry okay! I just hate this, I hate not being able to do everything, I hate depending on people, I hate being incapable."

"I'm sorry. I was just worried. Please, ask for help next time."

"You know... before all this, I was a part of the Juniour Olympics swimming club. Now?" She laughed incredulously, "Now I'm stuck."

"You aren't stuck, your just paused. You need to rewind and reminisce of all the things you should be happy about. You are still that gorgeous babe, with your wild personality. You are still my best friend and no doubt someone's "beauty". You are still .y fashionable drama queen and I don't care whether you are wheelchair bound or not, I'd have you as my best friend anyway."

"Thanks," she wiped the tears from her eyes and leaned forward to hug me.

"Now, bring that sass back, cause we're going to the beach."

"The beach? I didn't bring sunscreen! Or a sun hat or-"

"Calm down, Sebastian is just as fussy as you."

"God that guy is just... infuriating! Who does he think he is?" She ranted as I took her to the kitchen.

"My beauty! I made special coffee for you!"

"Sebastian, I am not your beauty! And you can throw that coffee away, I want juice."

"Anything for you, my Kitty Kat!" He said with a smirk.

Kitty's face heated up, she blew out a big breath and gave him a death look. Hardy and Lisa laughed at her look, and to be honest, she did look wild.

Her colourful hair wasn't combed, her eyes were still puffy, her cheeks were flushed and her jaw was set. She couldn't have looked anymore annoyed. That is, until she rolled over Sebastian's foot.

"F-crap!" He hissed.

She smiled sweetly at him, "Well, I'm a violent one when I want to be."

"But you know what they say, love is painful." He grimaced, still holding his foot.

"Baby Rosie! Where's my little rose bush? Where's my tiny rose in this house of thorns? Don't you look pretty in this costume!" I cooed when Theo brought her back.

She was wearing this costume with little frills around the sleeves and the legs. Bright blue and pink polka dots covered her and on the back it read 'Imma be building sandcastles for my kingdom'.

"I guess we are ready to go then?" I said, looking at everyone's bewildered reaction.

Faster than Santaon Christmas eve, everyone ran to get dressed and the kids ran for their toys.

Sebastian was the most comical of the lot.

"My sunscreen! I can't find my shades!  Ooh, wrong sandals! Blue or red shorts? I think I'll go as a Baywatch babe. Wait, snacks!"

Everyone halted at the word snacks. Suddenly, we were all in a frenzy. Grabbing packets of chips, juice boxes, random fruit, and some biscuits, we were soon loaded into a minivan, finally ready to go.

So, I realise that once again, I'm winging the story. You see, when I first began I was going for a girl getting through a murder kind of thing, but then came Theo. And obviously he had to be another mystery. There was also Kitty who needed a bigger story line. The Kale family story soon was incorporated and now Kitty's true self is revealed. But I think Mindy needs more closure.

Basically, I think I'm still at the beginning. *sigh*

I don't even have internet to upload and when I do it's for matric only.
And applications are tough and...

I could complain all day. But I think I'll stop now.

Well, at least we know that Kitty too is a human with weaknesses. Let me know what you think of her.
