Being from dauntless I'm generally suspicious of any authority figure. Ever since the erudite tried to use us to assist them in ruling our city and doing away with the abnegation I can say that no one in dauntless will ever be able to trust the erudite.

It's all thanks to divergents like me that we were able to win the war against them. Being a divergent means that we can control simulations. Divergent. I used to be afraid of that word. Now I know how useful and amazing it is. I also learned the true meaning of that word. It means being able to have more than one faction.

Being a divergent means you can be brave, intelligent, honest, selfless and friendly. I have difficulties with being selfless and honest. When I took the aptitude test I had an aptitude for abnegation, dauntless, erudite, and amity.

I was from abnegation but I knew I wasn't selfless enough to remain in abnegation. Ever since I was little I knew I should to be from dauntless. I wanted to stand out. I wanted to be dangerous. I wanted to be DAUNTLESS.
