From Egypt, with love

Late last night
I had a dream .
One where everything
Seemed to glitter and gleam.
I dreamed that we were hiding
Under a palm tree
Laughing and giggling about honey bees,
Pinecones and autumn leaves.
We spoke about the way emotions work
How the mind and heart are one
And moved like clockwork.
We sung songs completely
Without missing a beat
And clung to the lyrics so desperately
As if they would break under the weight of our animosity.
We watched the sun sink into the Nile
You checked the time on your watch
And said you had to leave for awhile
My mind fractured at that thought
Of you leaving me alone with my troubled heart
To find my way  back using the nights sky
When I can't tell a constellation from Virgo to Gemini.

Now I'm here
Sitting in a quite room
So full of people yet absent of sound
So full of wishes yet no ambition found.
We pass eachother on an never ending route
When I see you my heart flutters
And stiffens like fast drying groute.
For awhile was too long
And now the suns back again
But no matter my hearts true intentions
I can't let you back in.
Love is serious
She should not be taken lightly
But she's grown old between us
Settled into her new clothes
And forever and ever dead and gone.
