"Can you just accept it"

"Accept what?"

"Your feelings."

"What feelings?"

"The feelings you have for me"

♥♥♥

"You sure are famous for a high school student," my dad joked.

Kae got home before my mom and I, we found my father and him bonding together on business and politics. They looked very deep in conversation that they haven't noticed that we were home, my dad phone would usually distract him with messages or phone calls though. Mom was already preparing lunch for us all, it didn't take her long to finish and for me to det up the table.

"Well Mr. Dalson, I am just famous for being related to one of the known man in this country today," Kae replied.

"Please Kae, I have been saying this since I met you. Just call me James," my father said.

"It is very hard to call you by your name Sir, since you are a very important person today like my father," Kae responded.

I was confused by his response, what did Kae mean that my father is a very important person, I knew my dad was business man and he always done well in his job, but being the same as Kae father that is very different.

"Fae," my mom called.

"Yes mom?" I said.

"What are you thinking about again?," my mom asked.

"Nothing," I answered quickly.

"You have been thinking a lot lately ... Since your father came last night,"my mom said. This brought everyone at the table to look at me, including Kae.

"It's just school," I got up from my seat and said, "I need to start doing my home work," and went up to my room.

-------------------------------

Someone knocked on my door as I was doing my home work, but they didn't wait to hear my response.

"Can't you not invade someone privacy," I said.

"I mean you're just doing home work," Kae answered.

"What if I was changing?," I asked.

"Are you changing," He said.

This guy will be the death of me I kept telling myself. "What do you want?"

"I came to ask if you want to take a walk"

"I'm doing  home work"

"It can wait"

"Fine, but let me change," I said.

Kae was waiting for me downstairs, We walked to the park where we met. It was a silent walk, a very comfortable silent, both of us were in our own thoughts. He was the first to break the silence.

"I never had a good relationship with my dad", he paused then resumed. "I never visited him or was beside him in his last days of living, when I received the call I was out with my friends."

We stopped in front of a lake and we could see the sun starting to set. "I ran," he looked at me.

"I ran as fast as I can just to see him one last time, but it was too late." He looked back at the river, he was trying not to cry, he kept looking at the river and trying to calm down, "That night I regretted. I regret not being there for him."

I didn't know what to do or say, but I found hugging him, "I'm sorry", I said. He pulled back and tried smiling, "It's not your fault, it was mine. I don't want you to do the same mistake I did."

We walked home in silence, we were both lost in our thoughts not knowing what to say to one another. I was tired and just wanted to be home, tucked in my bed and sleeping but I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight after the conversation I had with Kae.
