You managed to haul yourself upstairs to your room while you father and his friends drank.
There was one thing that was bugging you when your father (Named Mad Frankie, but his real name is Fraser) was about to fight the rabbit gang leader, he seemed to watch you before whispering something, and the rabbit leader was about to speak back when the car split them apart. It was the fact that after you escaped, he kept watching you. After the fight, your father looked at you differently, like you were completely hollow and there was no love in his soul, none to give to you that is.
You decided not think about it. Tired, you peeled your pebble grey jumpsuit off your body, chucking it into the washing basket. You took your delicate cat mask and polished it, making the golden whiskers gleam. The cat mask was made of porcelain and the mask was worn by all of the gang, each having a distinct feature, yours having real gold linings and whiskers, so you took care of it like it was a newborn child. You placed it gently atop of your shelf next to the photo of your mother.
She tilted her head suddenly and looked out of the icy window, endless fields of cotton pads stretching for miles around. A tear fell down her face, knowing she'd never see her family again as her captor whispered into her ear "don't try and think of escaping, it's your fault."
(Y/n) sighed and looked away from the photo quickly, walking over to her dimly lit bed and flung herself onto the cold, fresh covers
"I love you, mum."suddenly overwhelmed, (y/n) began to mumble the first few words of a song, knowing she wasn't supposed to be ((play song now)).
as the song continued to flow through your head, you got louder and louder until you were singing with all your might, hitting you highest note when you belted out the line "Until I bleed."
But it was then, that exact moment when you heard your door creek open, your father's face twisted with disappointment. you froze, feeling your stomach turn upside down.
"D-dad I-" You began, leaning towards him as though you was going to comfort him. Fraser stormed away, slamming the door and almost uprooting it from the door frame. you could hear him running down the cold, warehouse steps. Your body convulsed, lips rattling violently, the words "I'm sorry." trying to force their way off your tongue before bursting into tears, body going into a cold sweat.
(Y/N) understood why her father hated it when she sang, but she never quite grasped why he hated it that badly. After all, all she was doing was making art with words, and her dad didn't like that. Fraser believed that if you became weak or took up creative hobbies, you would look vulnerable. After all, he is in a gang and therefore people will target his daughter, so (y/n) was never allowed to look weak.
He believed if he sends her off to another gang, one they know quite well, she will change.
Fraser pushed his way through his gang members, startling them.
"You alright, boss?" Ricky questioned, one eyebrow raised. He knew he wasn't alright, but Ricky looked up to Fraser so respect was the key to their friendship. It was the right thing to do.
Fraser let out a deep growl, tugging the phone off the wall and dialing a number.
A gravely, thicker British voice picked up the phone. after a few seconds of faffing around, the voice spoke.
"'Ello, who is it?" The man on the other end was careful to hide his identity.
"It's Mad Frankie. It's a deal." He whispered, making sure it was inaudible to anyone else. A sudden feeling of pain took over Fraser's emotions. Fraser didn't have to see the person on the other sides face to know he was smiling.
"Brilliant," The voice taunted "We'll be round in'a bit, yeah?"
The line went dead.
Fraser turned around to see his whole gang looking at him with sad eyes, the knew what he did.
~
The last thing (y/n) did that night was clean her face before going to bed. lucky for her, she got over sadness very quickly, even though the emotional side always stayed around she would only cry for a few minutes. It's always been like that.
You felt a jolt in your sleep, and it scared you. You shot up but was stopped by a strap - a seatbelt - across your shoulder. The car wasn't moving, and it wasn't your car either. you tried to lunge forward, realising your hands were tied.
"W-woah, 'ey, calm down you'll get us in trouble." A younger, more high pitched voice spoke to you from the driver's seat, putting a warm hand on your shoulder. You looked at him, nervous. He was wearing a rabbit mask. you scanned him briefly and you could tell just by body size he was about your age.
"Wh-" You stopped and spoke in french to hide who you really was.
((Side note: I can't be arsed to translate bare french so if it's in italics and the reader is SPEAKING, it's French.))
" Pourquoi suis-je ici ?" why am I here?
Luckily, he understood french. The young gorilla rubbed his temples, unsure of how to tell you.
"well, uh, ya' dad made a deal with my dad that if we give him £300,000 we can 'ave you in our gang."
your heart sank. Your dad wasn't joking when he said he'd send you away if you sang.
"B-but don't worry, we 'ent gonna treat you bad. Promise." He smiled through his mask reassuringly. You smiled back.
You looked over your shoulder to see the two alpha males patting each other on the back, Fraser's face painted with guilt. You swallowed your pride and looked up at the stars, not noticing the younger gorilla staring at you.
After a few minutes, 3 other large gorillas jumped on the back of the van laughing. The car began to drive. you took one last look at the old warehouse to see your father staring back at you, a single tear rolling down his tough cheek.
However, this was a blessing in disguise.
