Danaya left Amihan's tent, amused at Lira's reaction upon learning the true circumstances of her birth.  Growing up in the mortal world, the true Lira had had no notion of how she had been conceived.  That her mother, Amihan and her father, Ybarro, or rather Prince Ybrahim, had met in a dream.  That it was their creator, Emre, who had chosen them for each other.  And that his choice had been signified by a white butterfly that had gone to Amihan and another that had touched Ybarro.

Amihan, Ybarro and Danaya had needed to explain everything to Lira.  A good thing the Sapirian prince seemed determined to be a good father.  Danaya paused.  How would he be like as a husband though? She could see that Amihan's feelings for him were growing and this troubled her.  Alena had loved Ybarro as well.

It did not matter.  Marriage was not for the queen of Lireo or any of them.

IF she could marry though, who would it be?  She tried to imagine the smiling Aquil but unbidden, the thought that though he was more reserved, Muros would be an ideal husband forced itself into her mind.

What was she thinking?

As if on cue, the object of her thoughts stopped in front of her.  Muros was holding a tray of fruits.

"Sang'gre Danaya, would you like to eat some fruits?  These are fresh and ripe, picked just this morning."

Taken by surprise, she didn't answer right away.  It was kind of him, though.  She looked at him thoughtfully and considered accepting but then Aquil appeared.

Another surprise.  He was bringing a plate of bread.  "Fruits would not be good for your stomach at this time, Sang'gre Danaya.  Have some newly-baked bread instead."

She looked at both men.  Aquil was giving Muros irritated sideways glances while Muros looked away, expressionless except for his mouth which had firmed into a thin line.

How to handle this situation delicately?  She certainly didn't want them getting annoyed over this.

Coming to a decision, she asked Aquil, "Are you hungry, Aquil?"

"Yes, Sang'gre.  Why don't you join me for a meal?"  Aquil replied confidently, eyeing Muros with a satisfied smile.

She didn't reply but asked Muros instead, "How about you, Muros? Are you hungry as well?"

"Indeed Sang'gre.  Would you like to join me?," was his quiet but eager reply.

She flashed a smile at them both.  "Well, since both of you are hungry, you can both have your meal together."

With that, she strode away before any of them could answer.
