CAMILA RESTED HER bike against the bike rack in front of the school, chaining it to the metal rail. She had always loved riding her bike to and from school on sunny days like today. The wind would blow through her hair, rays of sun shining down on her and she couldn't help but smile.
She backed up from her bike and adjusted her bag straps before her back hit hard against someone's chest and she whipped her whole body around in surprise.
"Sorry!" she exclaimed out of habit before recognising the person's face. "Oh, hey Clay."
"Hey, Camila." Clay replied, slightly sheepish as he did the same with his bike that Camila had done with hers.
"How are you, aside from just being attacked by my bag? I saw you at the party last night but I didn't get the chance to say hi." Camila explained before she realised that she may have been being a massive inconvenience. "Oh, wait, you don't have a hangover, do you? And here I am rambling when all you want to do is curl up in a ball."
"No, no, I'm fine." Clay shook his head, slightly amused by how concerned the girl was.
"Oh, good." she laughed slightly at her own overreaction before her eyes caught someone behind the boy. She saw Hannah talking to Justin Foley and suddenly remembered that Kat was no longer at school which meant that Hannah likely needed a friend. "Sorry, I have to go talk to Hannah but I'll see you later."
"Oh, right. See you later." Clay said, looking behind him to see Hannah and Justin which filled him with immense displeasure.
Camila made her way over to the two just as Hannah began to walk away, making Camila pick up her speed. When she was closer to the girl, she called for her to get her attention.
"Hannah!"
The girl turned around in confusion upon hearing Camila's voice. Once she saw who it was, a smile spread across her face and she greeted the girl.
"Oh, hey Camila."
"Hey, how are you? Kat's gone now, right?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Oh, that sucks. I'll really miss her, she was a really good friend."
"Yeah, she was."
Camila nodded sadly, the bell ringing through the school grounds stopping her from saying any more.
"I better get to class but I'll see you later." Camila smiled at the girl as the two began walking separate ways.
"Yeah, see you."
Before Hannah could walk any further, Camila spoke up, making the girl turn around.
"Could I maybe sit with you at lunch?"
A confused look spread across the girl's face before a smile spread across her lips, "Yeah, sure."
