Third Person p.o.v.

Roman Josi was sitting alone at the bar. His teammates deserted him to go find girls to bring home, or to go home to their wives. Unlike the others he wasn't looking for a girl to bring home nor did he have a wife waiting for him.

Roman had gone through a hard breakup recently. His girlfriend of three years had cheated on him. He didn't find out about her cheating on him for a year and a half. A year and a half she led him on as he gave her all the love he had in him. Then once he got suspicious, she smashed his heart into pieces.

That's when he stopped caring about girls. That's when he began to play hockey like his life depended on it. That's when he changed his life for the better. He became a better man and a better player. He was waiting for the perfect girl.

Roman was only there for the celebration. They had won their first playoff game. A game they never expected to win. He was there for moral support, nothing more nothing less. That is until he locked eyes with another.

Jesy Nelson was with her band mates. They were trying to cheer her up after her breakup with Chris Clark. They decided it was a good time to take her out to a bar. They thought it would get her mind off of boys for awhile. She had been sitting at the bar alone for the past ten minutes.

Her band mates wanted to dance. Unusual to her she didn't. Jesy wanted to be alone. She didn't want to be there. She hadn't planned for this. She planned to sit in the hotel and eat as much junk food as her stomach could handle. Well that or go to the gym and get all of her anger out of her.

She wasn't sad about the breakup she was angry. Angry that he used her to decide whether or not he wanted to settle down. Angry that he used her to realize that he wants to stay out of the limelight. Angry that he used her to make his ex jealous. Angry that she fell for him and he didn't.

The anger was building in her the more she thought about it. She looked up from her drink for a second. She was greeted by a mesmerizing pair of hazel eyes. When his eyes met hers they both felt sparks. Both were too shy to say anything, too shy to even look back into each others eyes.

Usually they both are very confident and boisterous. Today that wasn't the case. As the night went on they unknowingly got closer together. They made it a point every once in a while to move a chair or two over. Eventually there was a single chair in between them.

As Roman went to move to the chair dividing the two, his teammate James Neal sat down, facing the girl. Romans confidence grew as did his jealousy. He wouldn't admit in a million years that he was jealous, but at that moment he was. It took everything in him not to hit his teammate that was flirting with the girl he had come to fancy.

Roman put his hand on his teammates shoulder roughly, not caring if it hurt, it drew James' attention from the girl. The moment James saw the look in Romans eyes he excused himself from the two and went on the hunt of a new girl.

"I didn't think he was going to leave." The girl laughed. Roman made a point to notice her accent which was different from the southern drawl that he had grown used to.

"I'm surprised he did." Roman let out before Jesy noticed his accent. She expected it to be country, but it wasn't it was European she just couldn't pinpoint from where. "I'm Roman." The boy said while extending his callous filled hand towards her.

She looked at it for a moment, examining it. Finally she took it, it was softer that she had previously thought.

"Jesy. You're not from around here are you?" She questioned before his head began to move back and forth.

"I'm from Switzerland and you're from England?" He questioned back. Her head moved to nod up and down. "Kind of funny how two people from Europe meet in Nashville huh?"

The only thought that crossed her mind as she was nodding was that it wasn't funny. It was pure luck. The kind of luck that shouldn't happen. The kind of luck she hadn't had since Jake.

As quickly as the conversation started it ended, due to one of Jesy's band mates calling her over, while slurring her words.

"I'm sorry, but if I don't go over there they will keep calling." She explained to him before she took a piece of paper from the bar and a pen out of her bag. She scribbled her number on it quickly before handing it to him. She didn't even have to say anything for him to understand.

"I'll call you later then yea?" She nodded at his words before disappearing into the crowd of drunk club goers. He watched her until she disappeared, he decided it was about time to head home.

Before he could leave his teammates dragged him to their private tables. They passed him drink after drink. After an hour he was smashed, he had girls all over him but no matter who threw themselves at him or how drunk he got he couldn't get his mind off of Jesy.

He announced he was leaving. This time it was for real. He drunkenly hailed a taxi, before collapsing in his bed once he had gotten to his house.

She was in his dreams that night.

Jesy, however was still at the club. She was forced to mother her three band mates who at this moment had forgotten they had boyfriends. Jesy unlike Roman was completely sober, but just like him she couldn't get her mind off of the boy who made her want to get to know him more.

Finally she had the three girls rounded up, with the help of the Mixmen and had them in a cab going back to the hotel. Once she had them settled into bed, she crawled into her lonely bed.

She fell asleep thinking about Roman, her thoughts sinking into her dreams.
