Roman phone had died in the middle of the night. He woke up to banging at his door. He threw a shirt on and went to open it. Carrie was at the door.
"What?" He said rather rudely. Carrie hit him hard.
"You're the one that wanted a ride to practice. Don't get snippy with me." She sassed back. Roman rolled his eyes before putting a pair of shoes on grabbing his phone, wallet and keys. He would charge his phone in the car. He squeezed into the back of Carries small car. Mike was squeezed into the passenger while Carrie was very comfortable in the drivers seat.
"You need a bigger car." Roman grumbled. Carrie laughed for a moment. Roman plugged his phone into the outlet.
"You need coffee." Roman couldn't disagree, he usually started his morning with coffee and food but today he had neither. Finally his phone was charged enough to show the texts he had missed from Jesy.
*Good morning Ro. Hope you slept well last night.*
*Good luck with your game today.*
Roman was thinking to himself. Maybe she didn't remember what happened last night. Also why was she saying good luck this early. Last game she didn't do it until right before the game started. He didn't really think much of it though. He let it be when the stopped at the coffee shop. Carrie got out to grab the drinks, leaving Roman and Mike alone.
"What's got you all quiet? Usually you and Carrie are fighting about something. You didn't even hear her calling you a fuckface." Roman shrugged his shoulders not knowing what to say. Mike kept looking at him, he was looking for an answer.
"Jesy's just acting weird." Mike nodded turning around to only turn back to face Roman once more. Again he wanted more from his teammate. "Last night Jesy and I had, um.." He paused. This was really awkward to talk about with his captain.
"Phone sex?" Roman nodded before Mike patted his shoulder. "Now finish what you were saying."
"We had phone sex. We talk most of last night. Then this morning she texts me asking me if I slept well and then wishing me luck. Last time she didn't do that until right before the game." While Roman was talking Carrie had returned. Mike and Carrie were both laughing at him. Roman contemplated getting out of the car and walking to the arena.
"Roman, you two are just getting to know each other. Something's aren't consistent." Carrie hadn't heard the first part of Romans rant. "I still don't text Mike good luck at the same time before every game. Don't read into it. She does like you. Maybe she just didn't want to forget." Roman nodded as Carrie handed him his coffee and she took off in the direction of the rink.
What Roman didn't know and Carrie did is that Jesy booked a last minute flight back to Nashville. She wanted to be there for game four. She wanted to be there for him. It would take her 17 hours to get there. She would be just in time for his game.
Jesy was thinking about how to surprise him. She didn't know if she should do it before or after the game. Carrie had gotten her tickets with the help of Mike. She would be sitting first row with Carrie and her family. She was nervous. She didn't know how Roman would react.
Her flight got in just on time. She grabbed her carry on and was off to the taxi lane. She was about to hail a taxi when she heard a familiar voice. Carrie was calling her name. She put her bags in the boot and hopped in the passengers seat. She waved at the little boy in the back before hugging Carrie softly.
"Thank you." Jesy said quietly. Carrie nodded before driving off from the airport. When they reached the arena, sweat coated Jesy's palms. She made a mistake, she shouldn't be here. Carrie grabbed Jesy's hand.
