"Ara...."Eva shouted.
I looked back and gave her a smile.
"Why are you so late?" As if she doesn't know the reason....
"Eve, you know about my van....it's always late."
"Anyway, come fast. Ms Grace is about to come." She replied .
"Ok. Coming. "
It's been 6 years and she's still the same.
But I just love the way she is.
We both entered the classroom.
Ms Grace was already there.
"Where were to both girls?"
Eva looked at me. I looked at her.
We were about to laugh.
I pinched myself.
"I have told you both thousands of times to be there in the class before I come. But you two never listen. But still it's okay. I don't want to scold you both in the last moments of my life with you guys."
Even though she is such a boring ,strict and angry teacher, she is the best teacher in the world.
"Sorry Ms Grace. We will make sure that we won't trouble our next teacher." I said smiling .
Ms Grace smiled. She hugged both of us.
"Now both of you sit. Class please pay your attention. Listen to me clearly....." She went on with her lecture.
After half an hour her lecture ended.
She took us to our new classroom. Our old school ritual, where the old class teacher takes her students to their new class.
"WOW!! I really love this class." Eva exclaimed. " We're gonna rock this year." She said excited.
" Ya sure!!" I said smiling.
"Ara.... Anythingis possible when I'm with you. I love you." She said
"Love you too dear.." I said.
We both were about to cry. And yes, that was our old fashioned emotional friendship ,what we called our life. Our best life.

"OMG!Ms Harris is our new class teacher. " I exclaimed. "

Fingers crossed!" Eva said.
"Good morning students. Welcome to class 12. I'm Ms Harris, your new class teacher...." As if we didn't know.
So finally the school hours ended. Time to go home.
"Honey. Why are you so late? I've been waiting for you for so long. I was so worried. " Mom asked.
"Mom. Please don't worry too much. Nothing will happen to your little dearie. Our van just had a small accident...."
"Are you okay? Oh my god! Was the driver drunk? Oh my are you hurt?"
Mom shouted with care hugging me and checking my hands.
"Mom...... not again. I know that you care for me. You love me. But I'm not a child anymore. I'm alright. There's no need for worrying."
" Ara please be careful. I really love you."she said .
She had tears in her eyes . I hugged her.
I threw my bag on the sofa.
"Araaaaa. Pick up your bag. I've told you thousands of times to keep your bag at place. But no....."
"Now that's like me Mum."
We both smiled at each other.
I know that my mom treats me like a child, but still I love her the way she is.
"I'm going to the market. Tell me if you want something." Mom said.
"Ummm.....Pls bring some snacks. I'm bored of eating those crisps."
"Okay. And please, don't open the door for strangers. Call me if there's an emergeny......"
"Yup mom."I said
I was bored. I didn't want to study. At least not on the first day of school.
I called Eva.
"Hello Abra ka dabra..." She picked up the phone. And that's what she usually calls me.
"Oh please. My name is Ara you ...."
"Chill Ara. Why did you call me?"
"Ummm, nothing. I'm just so bored . I have nothing to do."
"Okay come to my place." She said.
"Not now. Mom has gone to the market. And I just can't leave my home like this unattended. And mum would be late."
"Okay,then I'll come ."
"Okay then let's meet around 5."
"Bye ARA."
"Bye EVA."
She cut the phone. I really don't like it when she emphasises my name. I looked at the clock. It was four thirty, half an hour to go. The next thing I had to do was clean my room. As I picked up my book lying on the floor,
the bell rang. I rushed to the door .
"Hey. Wait . Who are you? And why are you pushing me . Wait go away. I'll the police. Ahhhh!" . Some stranger entered my house and pushed me away. I fell on the floor, my head hitting the table. My surroundings were spinning. The last thing I could remember was the stranger entering my mother's room.
As I opened my eyes, I saw a few people around me and water droplets hitting my face.
It took me ten seconds to realize that mom Eva and dad were standing around me and I was lying on my bed. Mother was crying. I could see how scared she was.
"Ara dear.Thank God you opened your eyes. I was so scared. Are you all right?"
She said, her tears constantly hitting my arm.
"I'm alright mum."
"What happened to me? How did I get hear?"
"As I reached your house, I saw the door opened. On entering, I saw you lying on the floor. So I called your mother." Eve said. She was brave. "Meanwhile I checked the house , but saw no one. But your mother's closet was open. I felt it weird cause usually it's always locked."
Even though my family treated Eva as my sister, my dad was suspicious. I could see his suspicion in his eyes.
"Okay. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have opened the door." I said quickly to prevent any further talks.
"But who was this person? As far as I've checked, nothing has gone missing." Dad said.
"Eva.... I think you should leave now. It's already late. Your parents would be worried. Call them on your way back home." Mom said.
"Okay Aunt. I'll call you as soon as I reach home. Bye Ara. Take care."
And she left.
