"Aunt Tiffany " I said.
"Now who is this Aunt Tiffany?" Ara said.
"Your aunt.... your mother's good friend.... who else? "
" Oh! She.... But why her?" Ara asked.
"She has been a good friend of your mother. Since college days. She must be knowing...." I said.
"But why would she tell us?" She said.
Now that was the point. Why would she tell us?
"Well there is no harm in trying." I said.
"And what if she tells mom and .....
You know what she'll do..."
"Ara... Please don't think too much.
Let's keep our fingers crossed."
"Okay. I'm feeling much better now.
Please don't tell anyone about this.
Promise. "
"Promise."
"Bye, good night. "
"Goodnight." I replied. Now this was something new in our complicated life.
I sent Ara the schedule for tomorrow

-----------------------------------------------------------
I slept.
"Good morning Eva." Mom said.
"Maa...please let me sleep. Just five minutes more."
"This is the sixth time you're saying this. Now please wake up. "
"Okay." I said
I got up and went to the bathroom and took a bath.
When i came out,it was 9:00 am.
One hour to go."Come downstairs and have your breakfast." Mom shouted.
"Coming mom." I replied.
I had my breakfast.
"Mom, can I go to Ara's place? From there we'll go to her Aunt." I asked.
"May I please know the reason.." Mom asked.
"Ara has to collect something from her. Her mom won't be able to go. And Ara doesn't wants to go there alone." I lied.
"Okay. But you have call me as you reach her aunt's house and then call me as you depart from her house. Understand." Mom said.
"Thank you so much mom." I said and hugged her.
Within ten minutes I reached Ara's house.
She must have had a hard time to convince her mother.
"Bye mom!" I heard Ara shouting.
"Hi Ara."
"Hi Eva." Ara replied as she sat on her cycle.
"So. How did you convince your mother?" I asked.
"It was easy. I said that you had to get something from your aunt's house. "
Ara replied.
It took us 10 minutes to reach Aunt Tiffany's house.
"I'm nervous." Said Ara.
"I'm nervous too. But we have to do this." I replied.
Ara rang the bell.
"Whose there? Oh Ara! It's so glad to see you. But where is your mom? I'm not able to see her!" Aunt Tiffany said as she opened the door and hugged her.
"Ummm... Actually she's at home. She was busy doing some work. I made some cookies and I wanted to give them to you."Ara said.
"That's so nice of you. Come in you two." She said.
She was a really nice person.
Wish Aunt Joe was like this too.
"Ara ask her."I whispered as Aunt Tiffany entered the kitchen.
"Yes." She replied. She was really nervous.
As aunt came out, are took a deep breath and asked.
"Umm... Aunt Tiffany, do you know everything about my mom, my family and....."
"Yes."
"Can I ask you something?
"Yes. Go ahead. "
"Am I the only child in my family?" Ara spoke.
"Ummm. Um. I. I. I don't know..... I mean yes. Yes you are a single child."
Said Aunt Tiffany.
Why was she fumbling with her words?
"You are lying." Shouted Ara.
"No, I'm not. I'm telling you the truth."
Said Aunt Tiffany.
"Then why are pictures of a girl older than me present in our family pictures?" Ara said.
"She. She must your cousin sister."
"No she wasn't."
"I don't know what you're talking about?"
"You very well know what I'm talking about."
"No...."
Ara cut her sentence and started speaking. "Ava. Isn't it? That's her name. Am I right?"
"Some things must be hidden and burried in the past." Spoke Aunt Tiffany. She was serious now.
"What things?"
Then there was a sudden silence.
"Aunt Tiffany, please tell us. Who is Ava?" I said.
"No Eva. We know who she is. Now I very well know that I have a sister named Ava. Now the question is where is she?" Ara said.
"Dear I'm really sorry. I'm not answerable to you. I am not allowed to tell you this. And please listen to me carefully, even if I was allowed, I wouldn't have told you. Understand."
Said Aunt Tiffany angrily.
"But...."
"Further questions may lead to bad consequences such as calling your parents and telling them everything."
"So you won't tell us."
"No. Not at all."
"Its okay we are capable of finding answers ourselves." Ara said.
"Aunt please. Some or the other day we will have to know the answers.
So why not now? We are old enough.
Please" I spoke.
I don't know why but all of us were crying.
"Please understand." Said Aunt Tiffany.
"I'm outside." I said and went out.
"But...." Ara said.
I closed the door and stared at the scenery.
An hour later Ara came outside.
She was crying. Her face was pale. Her eyes were red.
"Ara, what happened?"
As I said so she started crying even louder.
She hugged me.
Something had happened inside. What did aunt tiffany tell her?...... To be continued
