I stared at the staless sky, hoping that one day he would come. I knew something was going to happen today. I could feel it in my gut.
"John! John! Dinner's ready"
"Coming Mom!" I yelled
I turned on my heels and raced into the house. I sat down at the dining table and pretended to say my prayers. I had never actually prayed before. Strange, considering my father was a pope.
During dinner, I heard a sound that sounded like a gunshot outside the house. I sprinted out wondering what all the noise was about. Instead of seeing a man holding a gun, I saw an angel dragging a man around on the gravel, and then taking off into the air with the man. I looked around the area the angel took off from, hoping to find something that would help me believe that what I just saw was a fiction of my imagination. There was something silver on the gravel, about five feet away from me. As I approached it, I realized it was, as a matter of fact, two different things. One was a silver gun that was dented and at an angle that it looked like it had fallen from high up. I presumed it fell from the man's hand as he was carried up into the sky. The second thing was a necklace with two pendants. I picked it up and looked at it closely. It had two pendants hanging on it. One was shaped like a bow and arrow, and the other was shaped like wings. It was actually gold and etched into it was
'To John Keith from your father. When the time comes you will know what to do with it'
For some strange reason I knew that was written in ancient greek. Probably to make sure it got o me and my hands only. I stared at it blankly for 30 minutes but to me it seemed like seconds. I jumped when I heard tthe bushes around my house rustle and I also heard sounds as if many people were walking on gravel at the same time. I heard a growl and suddenly, a wolf jumped out of the bushes and attacked me. On instinc I jumped up, grabbed a branch and hauled myself up onto it. Moving impulsively, I tapped the bow and arrow pendant and a bow appeared in my hands and a quiver filled with glowing arrows appeared strapped to my back. I knew I had no choice but to fight the wolf one on one knowing that my mother would not be abkle to help me this time. Quickly, I notched an arrow and shot it at the monster's eyes. Immediately I notched another arrow and was about to fire it when I saw I wouldn't need to. The first arrow had found it's mark which was weird considering I had never picked up a weapon in my entire life. A strange glow of light and darkness engulfed the creature, lighting up the night sky. The light dies down and the monster lay on the ground, lifeless and unmoving. That was my first kill but little did I know that that was the beginning of the things to come.
