The first sleep in my new home was amazing, as I was so tired from the flight. Before bed I made some cookies, which tasted absolutely delicious, to take over for our new neighbours. It's weird not having to get ready in my usual routine, and go to see Danny. I brush my hair and throw it up in a messy bun. I find one of my new outfits as they are perfect for the weather here and put it on. Blue denim shorts with a tuck-in chequered shirt. Oh, and some white converse high-tops. I'm very nervous, but I'm always nervous, constantly worrying about the moments yet to come. Anyway, once I've moisturised and put on some SPF lotion, I head out with the cookies I made and make my way across the street.
"What a lovely house," I think aloud to myself. "And my, what gorgeous flowers".
To my surprise, someone responds.
"Yes, tulips are quite a sight this time of year. Best time to watch them bloom."
Confused, I ask, "Sorry who are you? I didn't catch your name."
"I'm Robert, but you can call me Rob. Are you the girl that's just moved in across the street?" He responds.
"Yes, I am actually. Hi Rob, nice to meet you. I'm Jennifer, but I prefer Jenni. Here, I brought you and your family some cookies." I hand over the cookies as a smile beams across his face.
He's absolutely gorgeous. Dark, messy hair, big brown eyes, tall. I wonder if he goes to my new school.
"So, Rob, what school do you go to?" I ask him, hoping for the response I have in mind.
Still smiling, and with a few cookie crumbs on his cheeks, he says, "Venice international school, how about you?"
A smile makes its way across my face as I reply, "Wow! Me too! Maybe when we go back after the summer you could show me around?"
"Sure," He replies. "I'd love that."
We wrap up our conversation and I head back home. He invited me and my family over for dinner tonight. I told my mother about how nice he was and she seemed glad.
After getting changed and doing something nice to my hair, me, mother and father head over to Rob's house. The inside is very similar to mine, apart from the furniture and decoration. It's very modern and exquisite. For dinner, we had handmade hamburgers, as the family didn't know whether or not we liked the traditional Italian cuisine.
After dinner, me and Rob go in his indoor pool. We talk about how my life was back in Alaska, and how I miss Danny. He starts saying how I will probably find someone new over here, as I'll eventually realise I can't get over to see Danny. He says it so much that it starts to dawn on me that it probably will happen one day. I hate to admit it but maybe someone other than me is right.
