I call Dani, listening to the rings of waiting.
She answers and says she's on her way.
8: 40
She pulls up to the curb in front of the police station, and unlocks the passenger side door. I hop in, and set my purse on the floor. She drives, and doesn't ask me anything. I stare out at the last slip of sunlight coming out from the abyss called the night. I dissect my thoughts and emotions, wondering what I could of done to stop this whole thing from happening. I turn to the window slightly, and make finger puppets walking along the road. I can't waste my first date on trying to go out with a murderer to try and solve a crime!
Before I knew it, we were surrounded by trees in a parking lot. We were at our dorm. Dani unlocked the doors, and started to walk on the sidewalk. I grabbed all my belongings, and joined her as we started walking towards the dorm house.
I grabbed my covers, thick and soft. I looked at the papasan in the corner, and thought about it. I slowly transitioned to the beige papasan as my cat Mitsy rolled around to face me. This cannot be happening. The murder kept playing in my mind. Over and over.
I needed to find a new study spot. I can't go back to that same exact area and act like its normal. I just can't...
I slip on my converses, and put my laptop in my study essentials bag. I cradle Mitsy even though she keeps meowing, struggling in my arms. Her soft fuzz graze my skin as I let her down and watched as she scurried to the closet. I left the dorm again, this time to get dinner.
Scroll... There. Groupop. The new dating app made especially by the police department. I downloaded it, and logged in to the special account the police made for me and started to swipe.
I finished my walk to the dining hall. My favorite dining hall. Jarson Dining Hall. I just need to pay in advance, get my food and get ready for that photography test.
"Hello Joan! Nice to see you are here!" my favorite cashier, Francine called to me. I looked over and started to head towards her line. Just as I started paying, a notification slid down from my phone and read,
"You have a match! Click here to start a chat with them!"
This had to be the infamous killer or something. I sure as hell wasn't THAT pretty. I payed for my lunch, and started towards the line. I opened the notification and got redirected to a chat room.
