Happy Easter!! He is risen!!
I hope you all had a wonderful day, and that my fellow believers remembered to remember (eloquent wow) that today we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave, as he conquered death and gave us eternal life. :)
I know it's late at night, and I do not in any way intend to offend anyone who reads this who is not a Christian, but I did want to share the lyrics of a song that I'm learning in choir as I find the words meaningful, beautiful, and in some ways haunting (you should hear the harmonies). Anyway, the song is called Behold the Savior of Mankind. ;)
"Behold the Savior of mankind
Nailed to the shameful tree!
How vast the love that Him inclined
To bleed and die for thee...Hark how He groans while nature shakes
And earth's strong pillars bend!
The Temple's veil in sunder breaks,
The solid marbles rend.'Tis done; the precious ransom's paid;
"Receive my soul!" He cries—
See where He bows His sacred head;
He bows His head and dies.But soon He'll break death's envious chain
And in full glory shine.
O, Lamb of God, was ever pain,
Was ever love like Thine?Lives again our glorious king—
Where, O, death is now thy sting?
Dying once he all doth save,
Alleluia! Where they victory, O, grave?
Alleluia!"Written by Samuel Wesley (with some changes)
