You lived in Ikebukuro when you were young, your mother and father owned a small cafe together and though they were not particularly wealthy, the never once complained and enjoyed themselves.
You were pretty out spoken and would speak your mind which usually got you in a bit of trouble. You didn't have friends for a while as you thought all you needed was yourself, your parents began to worry so they asked some friends of theirs if they could get their children to get along. Most of them refused as they thought you were bad manned until they called a certain Mrs.Heiwajima.
"Of course, that's a great idea! I'll send my Shizuo over right away I think he could use some one to talk to besides his brother." Namiko Heiwajima chimed through the phone. Both your parents were over joyed at the response and rushed to tell you the great news
"Y/N! Y/N we have great news!" your Mother said cheerfully as she entered your room, you were currently drawing a..well not so great picture, you were only young and you were of course not happy with her interrupting your silent drawing. You peered over to her and your Father through the corner of your eye, clearly ticked off "Mooomm I was drawing!! Why do you always have to come in here when I'm doing something.." Your mothers face fell a bit as your father cleared his throat in a 'fix your attitude' kind of way "Mrs.Heiwajima's sending her son over to play, you've seen him before remember? Shizuo?" You stared at your father blankly before remembering "Oh that boy....Why is he coming over?!" Your mother walked over to you and brushed some hair out of your face to behind your ear "Sweety you've just been drawing by yourself a lot, I just want you to have fun with some other kids so please be nice to Shizuo, for me?" She smiled kindly and her gentle hand on your face always made you feel at ease, you smiled "Okay mommy, I'll be nice."
Your parents both smiled as they left the room for you to clean up a bit and get dressed, you came out of your room a few minutes later to find Shizuo. He looked like any other kid really but maybe with a slight anger issue. You were skeptical at first but you actually really hit it off and since then you two were great friends.
You really felt like your life couldn't get better and were always happy, that is of course, before the accident.
One day, when you were just 7 years old, your Mother was in a head on car crash on her way home and died on impact. Your Father of course was heart broken, and so were you. He couldn't stand to be in the same city with the same job in the same house so one night he packed up everything and left with you to live in Tōkyō. You moved into a small apartment with him as he got a new job as an I.T guy and you went to school and learned like a normal person, but you were always sad you left Ikebukuro and never really made time for a significant over or friends or people at all. You, in your time alone reading your Fathers books, had learned quiet a lot about computers and did freelancing jobs on the internet. You didn't always earn a lot but you did earn quiet a bit by taking on lots of complex jobs until finally you could move back to Ikebukuro. You were 23 and with enough money for a crappy job and a College scholarship, you left on a train to Ikebukuro.
You smiled as you got off the train knowing you were really home, But your smile soon turned to a frown as you realised how big the crowd of people were wherever the eye could see. You really didn't like too many people which would explain why you only had one friend your whole life. You sighed as you squeezed through all the people into the street. Which was even more crowded. "Great." you thought sarcastically to yourself, "It's gonna be a blast getting to my apartment." You took a deep breath in and walked down the street trying to avoid as many people as possible, just trying to get to your new home.
Suddenly you heard the screech of motorbike tires and people shouting, rushing towards the sound, when you were trying to figure out what all the commotion was you were pushed by an overly excited citizen and lost your balance, falling onto someone behind you.
"Oi! watch it" The male voice said, you steadied yourself quickly and turned around, bowing slightly in apology "S-Sorry, My mistake" You said quickly as you looked up at the taller man looking down at you with a stern expression, he had dyed blonde hair and blue sunglasses as well as bartender suit "What a funny looking guy, he's rather good looking though I'll give him that." you thought before nodding a quick goodbye and turning to leave "Hey, wait!" he said as you felt his strong hand grip your arm, you could tell he was trying to be gentle though but he still really surprised you, you turned to face him again "Yes?" you saw that he had a confused look on his face before his features softened in what looked like a mix of surprise and joy.
"A-Are you L/N? Y/N L/N?" You looked at him confused yourself at how he knew your name, how did he know you? "a-ah yes, How did you know...?" The male smiled softly and let go of your arm , rubbing the back of his neck slightly and looking off to the side "Well...I guess I have changed a lot since back then, It's Heiwajima, Heiwajima Shizuo." Your eyes widened and you smiled as you jumped up slightly (He's considerably taller than you) and hugged him tightly "Holy shit Shizuo!! I haven't seen you in so long oh my god you look like a total badass now and not just a little shit head punk like when we were little... Okay maybe a little bit like a shithead punk." you said laughing softly and letting go of him, you could see he was ticked off by that statement "Oi, don't be such a brat Y/N, you haven't changed at all." He said ruffling your hair a bit which annoyed you, you and Shizuo always had a kind of little sister and younger brother relationship even though he was only a few months older then you.
"Well! I'm sick of Tōkyō so I'm renting an apartment here, I actually just got off my train. So you like the great best friend you are, are gonna introduce me to people and show me whats new about the city alright?" Shizuo sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose "Hey I might have stuff to do tomorrow! you can't just tell me what to do you brat! How would I even f-"
"Find me?" you cut him off and held up his phone. " I already put my number in your phone and your number in mine, your schedule is only a meeting with some guy called Tom, he's your boss right? I'll be glad to accompany you to meet him tomorrow." You smiled innocently and handed Shizuo his phone back, he just looked at you almost speechless. "H-How did yo-"
"I grabbed your phone when I hugged you and quickly typed my number in and sent a message to my phone, I'm a fast typer you know. I looked at your calendar and you have a meeting with Tom Tanaka who in your contacts is labeled as 'Boss'. I hate to cut this short but I want to get home, see you tomorrow!" You waved a goodbye and walked away, leaving Shizuo standing there in disbelief.
You arrived at your apartment. It wasn't /that/ bad but it wasn't a penthouse, you already had the movers ( who were actually your neighbours in Tōkyō, ah the perks of being friends with a family run business) set up the little furniture you had. You unpacked your laptop and played down on your bed where you searched articles about Ikebukuro and the citizens for hours until you finally fell asleep.
I wonder who Shizuo knows
[ Hi! this is my first story sorry if it's really crap and if Shizuo is out of character I'm doing my best yeah? ]
