I stood by my bedroom window, watching the villagers walk around from place to place. I saw Anna, my little sister, walking back to the palace with her fiancé Kristoff.
Anna looked up and waved at me, making me wave back. They entered the palace and I walked over to my door. I leaned against it and heard Anna's feet pounding against the ground to get to my door. I looked down to see a shadow, and then the knock came.
"Elsa? Do you wanna build a snowman?" I laughed.
"Anna, it's spring. Winter passed remember?" I said through the door.
"Yeah silly, do you remember you HAVE the power to control ice and snow?" she asked, joking.
I smiled and opened the door. Anna stood there, looking beautiful.
Her strawberry blonde hair was in it's usual two piece braids. She wore a long-sleeved blue dress with flowers at the bottom. The bottom was a darker blue then the top and a black corset was wrapped around her waist and covered a bit of her shoulders. That also had flower designs on it.
I looked her up and down and noticed the white strip I had given her long ago wasn't there anymore.
First time I actually noticed.
Anna walked in, smiling and couldn't help but hug me. I smiled and hugged back. When she released me and went to my closet, I looked down to see my hands shaking.
I put them behind my back and turned toward Anna. "What are you doing?" I asked as I watched her throw clothes on to my floor.
"I'm trying to find something you could wear to my wedding. Which is tomorrow you know," she called to me, even though I wasn't that far away from her.
I looked back toward the window and watched the water gleam in the spring sun. I gulped, wondering if what happened in the summer could happen again. Elsa, I told myself. It won't happen unless you have control, which you do. You're hands were just shaking because you hugged Anna. Remember that.
"Ah ha!" I turned back toward Anna to find her standing up and holding a long blue and black dress in her hands. It was long-sleeved. That was my thing. The bottom was a dark blue, with a showing of the leg. And the top was black with jewels decorated on it.
"This," Anna said. "Is what you're going to wear tomorrow," and she threw it at me. "See you later," she called as she left the room, running.
I scrunched my nose and placed the dress on a chair in the corner. I sighed. Tomorrow was her wedding day with Kristoff and she wanted me to do something with my powers.
I collapsed on my bed, face up toward the ceiling. I thought back to everything that had happened over the summer. My coronation, me freezing Arendelle making an "eternal" winter, freezing Anna's heart, almost being executed, Hans trying to kill me and Anna sacrificing herself for me.
I closed my eyes, seeing Anna jump in between the sword and me and freezing.
I suddenly opened my eyes and sat up straight. I looked over to my door and found it closed. I hadn't closed it. Anna hadn't closed it either.
Silently, I rose from my bed and walked over to the door. I leaned against it but heard no one outside. I started to back away from the door when something grabbed me from behind and slammed me into it. I yelped out by the surprise and felt strong hands grab mine and pin them against my back so I couldn't use my power. Half my face was crunched up against the painted wooden door, probably getting splinters. I tried seeing who it was, but all I saw was half a shoulder. Until the person leaned down and whispered something in my ear did I have a guess that it was a guy.
"Took me a long time to get here and now that I am, I'll kill you. But not right now, just thought I should give you a warning. Tomorrow, during your sister's wedding."
My eyes widened and I managed to say, "who are you?"
The man laughed. "You don't want to know who I am, but who I work for. I'll give you the name, my Queen." He leaned down closer to my ear, hot breath trailing down my spine, making me shiver. "Hans," and he was gone.
I whipped around and found my window wide open, making the curtains fly from the spring breeze. I ran to the balcony and looked down toward the village. Nothing. It was like the guy was never here. But he was and he was going to come after me. Try to kill me during my sister's wedding. I gripped the balcony's rail. Hans. Prince Hans of the Southern Isles was the one who had pretended to love Anna to get to the throne. He was the one who tried killing me to rule Arendelle.
After I had thawed the kingdom, he was sent back to the Southern Isles for punishment, leading him to jail. I was guessing he had escaped, gotten a group of men to come and kill me. Not only that but probably to kill Anna and stop the wedding.
I let go of the rail and looked down to find it covered with purple pinkish ice. I gasped and ran back into my room, closing the window and turning my back. I looked toward the dress Anna had picked out for me, lying on a flowery chair in the corner. I slid down to the ground and leaned against the window.
I still felt the man's breath down my spine and wondered how he had gotten out and in so fast. I took a deep breath and rose to my feet. I wasn't going to let him kill me or ruin Anna's wedding. Which only gave me one choice.
"I have to stop the wedding myself," I whispered to no one. And, I had to stop Hans. Even if it lead to something I didn't want to do. But if it saved Anna's life and her and Kristoff's relationship, I had to try. What happens next? Find out in chapter two - Kristoff & Elsa
