Chapter 2

~Hailey's POV~

~29th October- 11:49pm~

I lay in my bed, chewing my gum. I looked over to Lily, wondering if she was awake. She didn't seem awake, but I knew who was.

I made my clicking noise which I used to call Wolfie, my puppy.

"Atta boy," I whispered, as he climbed up onto my bed and lay next to me.

"You still awake, I see," Lily whispered.

I turned on my lamp.

"You're awake! Could have told me!" I complained.

"I thought you would be asleep..."

I laughed.

"Since when am I asleep the same day I go to bed! Unless I go to bed after midnight," I said. We had stopped whispering now, because we were alone in our Dorm- We got to have a dorm of only two girls because there was a small dorm.

We both went down to the common room, and that's when I remembered I was still fully dressed.

I lit the fire and started to read my book. I got Wolfie to fetch my blanket for me. I usually stayed in the common room, reading until I was almost asleep. It was nice down there, and I liked not having to worry about others. Most people stayed out of the common room until it was midday - There was no point going in before. The dorms were upstairs, and Lily and I had the dorms on the bottom floor. The tower we stayed in had a rooftop area where I liked staying, but I only went on nice starry nights, so I could stare at the constelations.

~30th October-12:35pm~

I woke up at about 10:30, but I just went up to my room and slept in for a bit. I didn't have to be out until 12:45- When I had to go to Dance Prep. I was in charge of all the Dances, because I was the only Art person in Senior year who signed up, and because it's a dance, the decor needs to look cool. And in this case- Scary!

Until the Ball, the whole hall was off limits. Because it was a Village Weekend anyway, and most people went out at the weekends.

I started off by going up to the second floor, where I was able to hang the decor. We had a Washing line like string, where we just tied the decorations on and pulled it to get the ceiling.

After that, we added the Spiders webs to the corners of the rooms, and also to the ceiling and walls. The food was readily prepared by the food technologists, and the music was done by the singers and bands. There would be some live music, and some casual. My friends, and the twins (My 8th Grade siblings Alex and James) would be performing a song. I was surprised that Lexi agreed, as she was super shy. But we had a full band. Alex and I would be playing electric guitar, Lily on keyboard, James on drums and Lexi would just be singing. It would be so much fun!

We had been rehearsing for weeks, and I made sure that the music people would fit us in, and they decided that we could be the big opening!

~Later that day-2:00pm~

We were all going into town to get new dresses. I was just buying some purple hair dye, because I was gonna re-dye my dark blue highlights purple.

Lexi and Lily wanted to go to a dress shop. I was unwilling at first, but they bribed me with food, so I couldn't resist. I was shown a load of dresses, but I myself decided on a grey dress with a layer on the top which was practically see through. I was gonna wear it with my grey torn tights to give myself an undead look. Lily found a nice wedding dress, that was only knee length and quite nice. It was very simular to mine, but in white. She was gonna be an dead bride sort of thing - I zoned out when she started talking.
