Todd POV:

As I do my best attempt at staying awake through modern language class, I finally hear the lunch bell sign. Thank F for that. I pick up my stuff, and head to my locker, I place my things inside. There are a few girls standing nearby giving me the eyes. "Well hello ladies.. how was your summer?" I give them a smirk and wait for a response as they giggle.

An exotic beauty, with deep brown eyes, and cute cheeks finally decides to humour me. As her other two friends seem to just watch on. "Summer was pretty crazy.. how come you weren't at the beach?" She flirts, batting those lashes.

"I spent most of my summer in Italy with my cousin Spence. Got back late Saturday. This is my first day playing catch up." I explain.

She responds with an over enthusiastic.
"Wow Italy! Which part? Did you learn any of the language?"

I check my watch and decide it's time to go find the guys and Jessica. Not wanting to be ignorant I give them a smirk and as I walk away, I give my best Italian accent. "vediamo in giro le signore."

I hear the faint sound of swooning. Girls are such suckers for an accent.

I arrive in the cafeteria, grab a beef burger and banana milkshake from the food court then
clock my friends Alex, Sam, Rob and Fraser. To no surprise I see Fraser trying to chat up Freya, some freaky hot redhead on the cheer squad. She's cute I guess. I then notice Violette and Gem teasing Alex about something as Rob continues to encourage them. As I approach, it dawns on me that Jessica wasn't here yet. Which is unusual as usually Gem or Vi are by her side. I take my seat and get straight to the point 'Hey.. where's Jess?' Gem and Vi both shrug and begin eating their lunch very quickly. They're acting weird. I squint my eyes and give them my best glare. They will crack eventually..

Finally Fraser stops flirting and decides to share with me he saw her head toward the football field. I shrug and think she must be practising cheer or something then realise this Freya chick, Gem and Vi are here. All members of the cheerleading team. So it can't be that. Curiosity gets the better of me and I decide to go track my girl down.

Once I'm at the track I see a few people practising football and long distance running and so on. Unable to spot her, I ask a couple of people if they've seen Jess. Everybody knows who Jess is. They'd be blind and deaf if they didn't.

I'm about to give up trying when a small skinny guy with square glasses just points to over the bleachers looking I don't know remorseful? I pat his shoulder and thank him as I head to the direction he was pointing.

Once I'm close enough to the bleachers I hear the distant sound of heavy panting. My heart begins to race and I can feel the anticipation grow in my mind. But before I can turn around and leave I refuse to believe what I see. Jessica topless blowing some huge creep wearing a football jacket.

My mind goes black and I am unaware of my actions as rage clouds any rational thoughts.

"WTF JESS!?"

She definitely hears me as she quickly looks around for her top. She wipes her mouth and flutters her lashes trying to give me her sweetest and innocentest voice.

'Babe, what are you doing here? I thought we were meeting in the cafeteria?'

No remorse crosses her face. She almost looks pleased with herself. My gaze wonders to the fat fuck zipping himself up. My anger is seething now and I feel my hands clench.

"Well Jess, I was worried about you and.. you know what.. fuck you.. who is this ass hat?"

Jessica glances over at the guy then sighs. She tries to grab my hand and whispers that we need to talk, we walk a few feet away from the guy.

'Look babe. You know I love you right? It's just that you were gone all summer. And I know we face timed and called almost everyday. It's just, I met Dustin at this party and well we started hanging out. I was gonna break up with you but I didn't want to do it over the phone, and earlier, everyone was around so I was waiting for the right time to tell you."

The Earth comes crumbling down around me. Anger once again replacing rationality and my fist swings at this Dustin guy. Before I know it punches are being thrown around. He manages to punch me back once or twice but I'm that mad I feel nothing physically in that moment. He's down, hunched over, and I probably should have stopped but it felt so damn good.

The next thing I know I'm sat in Principle Tipton's office. Him giving us a lecture about first day back at school, and wanting to be lenient with us. Then tells me I have detention for a week since I started the fight.

Pffft it was worth it!

I hear all the gossiping in the halls as everyone leaves at the end of the school day. I did nothing wrong. It was that slut Jessica who completely betrayed me. My friends kept telling me she was a snake. Yet it's me with a massive shiner. No doubt Jess will twist this to save her 'reputation.'

Isn't it amazing how much a moment can change you? I started the day completely idolising and cherishing Jess. We had been together three years. We were each other's first. We grew up together. And now my heart feels like it's been shredded in a blender, and I hate her guts. I can't believe she did this to me.

I sign my name on the detention register and take my seat. There's a couple making out at the back of the room, and me. I'm guessing most of the kids decided to stay out of detention as it was the first day back.
