The next morning, Mary Jane woke up feeling unhappy. Rubbing her eyes, she opened her curtains.

Mary Jane suddenly felt a rush of happness- that was instantly killed when she remembered her fight with Dyandra.

"I don't want to go to school." she decided.

Mary Jane grabbed a hot pack and pressed it on her forehead. Then she grabbed a thermometer and ran it under hot water.

She put the thermometer in her mouth and jumped into bed just as her mother walked in.

"Mary Jane Shannon! I've been calling you for ten minutes!" she said.

"Oh MOM," Mary Jane faked, "I'm SO tired!"

Her mom felt her forehead.

"You are really warm. Maybe you shouldn't go to school today." She said.

Her mom looked at her suspiciously, then walked out of her room.

Mary Jane sighed in relief.

AFTER SCHOOL.......

Mary Jane looked at the clock. It was 2:30.

"School should be done by now," she thought to herself.

When the clock ticked 2:45,a snowball landed on Mary Jane's window.

THUMP!

She frowned.

THUMP! Again.

"Maybe it's Carter," she thought daydreamingly.

She was disappointed when she saw that the snowball thrower was actually just a little kid, having fun in the snow.

She walked up to her window and opened it.

"HEY! STOP IT!" She yelled.

The little kid laughed and ran away. She flopped on her bed and sighed.

All she could think of was Carter. She missed talking to him.........but, he didn't like her. She closed her eyes and pictured Carter in her head.

Mary Jane fell asleep.

Mary Jane woke up a few hours later. She got out of her bed and looked at the time. 10:45pm.

"Woah," she wondered. "Have I slept for that long?"

She yawned and grabbed a hair tie. She put her hair into a messy bun. While she was removing all her makeup, she heard a snowball hit her window.

"Great. Is that little kid back again?" She wondered.

Mary Jane walked up quickly to her window and opened it.

"GO AWAY!" Mary Jane yelled.

"..Ok fine, I'll leave."

Mary Jane looked down to see that it wasn't the little kid.

It was Carter.

"Carter!" Mary Jane shouted surprised.

"What are you doing here?!"

Carter stopped walking away and turned around.

"I was worried about you. You weren't at school today and I just wanted to see if you were okay."

"I was sick." She replied.

He raised his eyebrow. "You don't sound sick."

Mary Jane looked away as Carter chuckled.

"..do you want to go for a walk?" He asked as Mary Jane smiled and nodded.

"Sure."

She grabbed her jacket and ran outside.

When Carter saw her, he smiled at her.

"Hi.." He said, not taking her eyes off her.

"Hi." Mary Jane responded.

"Shall we go?" He asked as Mary Jane nodded slowly, as she felt her cheeks turn red.

They both decided to take a walk at the park. There was an awkward silence the entire way to the park.

"Mary Jane, wait," Carter said stopping her.

They both stopped walking as Mary Jane gave a curious look.

"What's wrong?"

He sighed.

"Look, I'm sorry, for everything. I was a total jerk to you. I'm sorry for rejecting you when you told me you liked me. Mary Jane, I like you too. I wanted to tell you, but Dyandra would ruin your life if I didn't date her. I'm so sorry, I'm such a-"

Mary Jane interrupted him with a kiss. She placed her hands on his shoulders.

Carter was shocked at first, but he immediately kissed her back, putting his arms around her waist.

Mary Jane let go of the kiss. She smiled at him.

"I've always wanted you to say that."

He smiled at her and hugged her tight. She hugged him back.

"Carter!" A voice said as Carter a Mary Jane let go of each other."
